Two of my brothers, who are twins that once lived in Tamworth, chose to celebrate their birthday dinner at Bangkok Thai - a place they would routinely frequent for takeaway. The party of eight (including myself) were very satisfied with our meals during the birthday festivities, which seemed to materialise before us no sooner than we had ordered them! The restaurant is licensed and while the wine list is short, my fu... View all feedback.
What Vito Rippin doesn't like about Bangkok Thai:
Entrees were greasy (deep fried but really greasy ). My prawns and snow peas were not great, have had much better. Husband had the Yummy Seafood, the mains both had a brown greasy kind of oily puddle left on the plate and were both a kind of brown colour.Squid in the Yummy Seafood was tough. Wouldn't go back although the service was great, and the people were lovely. Second Asian restaurant we have tried in Tamworth.... View all feedback.
The food the authentic and lovely, the inside seating was very welcoming and clean. In an odd part of town, from the outside the coles complex looks tired and run down but there is parking in front of the restaurant.I believe they do take away as well, but i enjoyed a nice sit down meal with a client and we were there for a few hours and staff did not hurry us away at all.Always like to try out different places as i travel around and i will be back.
Food and Service is first class all the way!!!. For starters we choose the mixed option which was fresh and delicious selection of entrees served with a variety of dipping sauces (...no Sweet Chilli Sauce here!!!!) We also ordered off the menu some Thai prawn chips with a dipping Satay Sauce as a pre dinner snack - delicious!!!. We followed this with a Duck Curry and Sizzling Steak (with Basmati rice) both dishes were extremely tasty!!! We ordered a bottle of wine and some drinks and found the prices reasonable for a restaurant. We were very full at this stage and had to by-pass dessert - maybe next time!!! If your looking for an "extra nice" night out dining and feeling like Asian this is a great choice but book as it always seems busy!!!!
It always was my favourite Thai restaurant in Tamworth. Comparable to good Thai restaurants in the big cities. Same family always make you welcome as if a long lost friend. Enjoyed Choo Chee Prawns and Massman Beef curry on this visit. See photos.
My partner and I travelled to Tamworth to see my dad for a couple of days, he decided to take us out to Thai, we chose here, there were four of us so we ordered the banquet. The meals were delicious, so fresh and the flavours..... yummy! There was so much food we took the rest home. The only down side was the drinks. My father and his partner ordered soft drinks, my partner and I ordered two cocktails. I ordered a Black Russian and my partner the frozen margarita. When they came out my Black Russian was in a tumbler glass ( spirit glass) with only Kahlúa and vodka ( where is the coke) and my partners was served in a tall glass, ok 1. Serve ur drinks in the appropriate glass in which the cocktail is suppose to be served, 2. If ur going to give me a cocktail with two nips in it and served it a small glass then I shouldn't have to pay $ 18 dollars for it! I appreciate them changing the glass for me, but I guess I spoke up I can only imagine what other customers must think. The staff were very friendly and consistent. Thank you
