Amazing experience at King State! We went for breakfast and sat at the bar. This was the best latte I?ve ever had. The staff was so engaging and happy. We both ordered sandwiches and I got a side of grits. Everything was perfection. I bought a pound of coffee to bring home and it just means the perfection continued for another three weeks! Thank you King State! View all feedback.
What Patricia Gust doesn't like about King State:
I’ve never quite understood the hype about this place. I’ve come here a few times in the past when it was first opened within the year. Now some time later, I decided to stop by on a Sun morning to get a feel for it’s growth. The parking situation is abysmal. For how packed it can get, there is not enough parking and there’s pot holes everywhere. Regarding the food and coffee, it wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t terribl... View all feedback.
I wanted to give a 5 star review but I couldn't, since there is a lady taking orders (long black hair Liza? that has a very negative and dismissive attitude. To be honest doesn't want me to come back because of her. Bad attitude, bad customer service. Bad.ugh....
The service and the atmosphere are great. The nachos however are not. The max and cheese has an interesting taste but don’t know if I would order
We absolutely love King State and would go at least once a week for breakfast. However, over the past few months the quality of food has fallen off a cliff. Gone is the freshly baked focaccia, quality fruit, consistently good grits, etc. These have been replaced with chewy mass produced bread calling itself focaccia, old fruit, and grits that half the time come out clearly missing a key ingredient (like salt). It’s a huge bummer. Hoping they get back on track as we love King State!
You guys please I love you so much but why is your music so loud? I've been tolerating it because I thought I was just old and crazy and I didn't want to ruin your vibes. I brought a friend here for breakfast on a Friday and we were practically yelling over the music. We sat outside in the heat just so we could finish eating and have a conversation. I get that during the evenings you want to turn up the volume for your night crowd but during the day time is it necessary? Food and drinks and staff are great but please please please consider your music volume for the elder millennials.
Breakfast is my favorite meal and Kingstate had been my favorite place to go for breakfast, but there have been some radical changes there. The portions have been reduced and although the service is adequate, it does not have the friendly feel it once had. Eggs, grits and fruit and a coffee for approx 16.50. Unimpressive and a little sad.
