Was Sean Lyons at Deviled Pig a mag?
We tried the brisket and rib tips. They were decent, little dry but the sauces they make are great. Excellent sides as well. Also had the Chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich, both were excellent. Seating is limited. They have a sun shade outside but the tables need to be replaced and perhaps some fans. Overall good BBQ and we will go back. View all feedback.
What Jay C dislikes about Deviled Pig:
I placed an order online through Uber Eats and not only was a side missing but there was an entire large piece of metal inside of the collard greens. I tried to call the store multiple times and the staff never picked up. This is seriously dangerous and disgusting. I was so excited to try out this small, local business and was down right disappointed and horrified. Aside from the obvious issues, the sides were not go... View all feedback.
The portion was so small for 16 dollars and when I get home there was another three dollars added on my card after I called it was put back on my card great food very small portions so I won't be back I just moved here and checking out new food places
This restaurant was outstanding when we first moved here four years ago, but since the owner changed, it has rapidly declined! What was once a fantastic establishment is now simply terrible. You might as well disregard the menu descriptions, as you won’t receive what’s promised. The food is consistently awful, and we won't be returning. Tonight was the final straw: we ordered two Porky bowls and received nothing but a mountain of slaw, four tiny pieces of meat, and an excessive amount of pickled onions. We requested extra fried jalapeños, but instead were given bits of batter from the jalapeños with no actual pepper in sight. When I called to inquire, I was informed they were out of fried jalapeños and just had to serve what was left at the bottom of the container. Seriously?! It was also missing several key ingredients that should have been included, and the meat was only a fraction of the promised quarter pound. It’s truly disheartening to see a once-great restaurant fall so far. The food is terrible, and the staff appears indifferent. We won’t be coming back!
I had the most disappointing meal I've experienced in a long time. I discovered this restaurant on Food Network, featuring the owner, and I was thrilled to find out it was only five minutes from my workplace. I ordered a sandwich and a deviled pig. The deviled pig was quite good, but unfortunately, the sandwich was nearly inedible. The meat was cold and dry. Given that it's such a short drive, there's no excuse for it to have been served that way. I'm grateful I bought extra sauce because it was the only way I could manage to eat it. It feels pointless to have the capability to create great BBQ if it's not executed well. I’m relieved I tried it out before bringing friends; I would have been embarrassed. The prices are reasonable, but I felt shortchanged for the quality of food I received. I left feeling very dissatisfied. I've had better pulled pork from the grocery store. I believe they have the potential to make good food, but they just don't seem to care enough. I probably won’t return again. I'm truly disappointed.
I've visited this restaurant several times and it never disappoints. The smoked and fried wings are superb, and the brisket is incredibly tender and flavorful. The burnt ends rank among the best I've ever tasted, and the ribs are fantastic too. It’s a true meat lover's paradise! I enjoyed it so much that I'd definitely consider them for catering. This place has become a must-visit for me whenever I'm in Tampa.
I stopped here for lunch and the experience was pretty disappointing. We ordered a platter and a sandwich. The sandwich was okay definitely better than the platter but nothing extraordinary. The jalapeño mac and cheese was not fresh at all. The “crispy” jalapeño on top was stale and had a weird aftertaste while the cheese sauce was thick, dry, and clumpy. The burnt ends on the platter had almost no char on them and they were essentially flavorless. The sausage, beans, and BBQ sauce were fine. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place.
