Saffron - Tameside
Saffron
Description
Saffron Restaurant has garnered a range of opinions, from loyal patrons disheartened by recent changes to newcomers left disappointed by tasteless dishes. While some highlight the cozy atmosphere and generous portions, others lament the decline in food quality and service under new management. Many fondly recall previous visits filled with flavorful curries and polite service but have since encountered bland flavors and inadequate meat portions. Conversely, some guests still appreciate the quick service, reasonable prices, and the option to bring their own alcohol. Overall, Saffron remains a subject of debate in the local dining scene.

The meat was very fatty and the chips was very dry! Definitely not worth £30 it was like eating a microwave meal!
Tried this place last night with my family. We used to order from here and I remember the food being really nice. I wasn't disappointed, we ordered Sheek Kebab and Chicken Pakora for our starters and for the mains we ordered Lamb Bhuna, Chilli Chicken Masala and a Chicken Jalfrezi. We also got 2 Garlic Naan and 2 Pilau rice. The portions were a good size for the price and our party of 5 was more than stuffed by the end of it. The naan is massive so we had a bit left over. There were some instances where we had to wait for things like menu's after being seated, the bill when we finished and the card reader after getting the bill. Other than that our server was very polite and helpful. He was kind enough to give us Poppadoms on the house which was sweet. The place is pretty small with maybe about 6 tables but I thought it was rather cosy. Would definitely recommend.
We come here all the time. The staff are great , the food is always on time , nice big iced drinks and good prices :

This is the 5th time we have dined at Saffron and it won’t be the last. The mixed stater was served hot from the kitchen. It was tasty and very well presented with the salad looking and tasting fresh. The mains were Chicken Tikka Pathia the best I have tasted. The rice portion is enough for 2 Nothing was too much trouble and you can adapt the dish according to your tastes. Just ask! I am going again this evening and would recommend without hesitation to anyone that enjoys there spicy food. Plus you can take your own drink which including poppadoms cost us £18 per head on the midweek special. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chilli Chicken, Part of a Mixed Starter, Chips Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection Vegetarian options: The usual Indian selection but just ask
