I think I've found a good food option for when I visit my mum as I don't live in the Tameside area anymore. There is a lack of decent Sunday Roast options in the Stalybridge/Duki area IMO. Had a look on here and found The Junction Inn so gave it a go. Have to say it was an excellent home cooked dinner. My elderly mum can't eat a full size meal so it was good she could have the child size roast. And she ate nearly all of it. So much nicer to see her eat most of a smaller plate of food rather than waste a big meal. The staff were also really lovely and friendly. We did wait a while for the food but you need to appreciate that is because it's decent and freshly cooked. Prices are good too! Overall a very nice meal, my mum loved it and we will definitely go back again. Oh and the music was nice and quiet which really matters to us. Nothing worse than not being able to hear due to loud music! Thanks for a lovely afternoon out!
Absolutely fabulous find, fantastic value for money, large portions, very tasteful food, attentive staff. Would highly recommend Will be back
We visited the Junction Inn on the first day of their reopening and we couldn't recommend it enough. We were greeted at the door by the manager, who was friendly and professional. The menu was a pleasant surprise as they'd introduced a lovely tapas style menu so we were able to select a few different dishes and get to taste lots of different types of food. As expected with tapas, the dishes arrived at different times, as and when it was cooked so, if felt like food was arriving continuously. The food itself tasted amazing so they obviously have an amazing chef. The staff were always checking that we have everything we need and always very professional. If you're looking for great food in a warm and friendly atmosphere you should try the Junction Inn.
We went as a family to celebrate my husbands birthday just before lock down was imposed. I ordered the mushrooms in garlic sauce which were awful. The sauce tasted of raw flour. We had to ask for my husbands starter as it wasn't brought out. After everyone had finished the stater the waitress came for the second time to check the order for our mains. They hadn't even started cooking them. I ordered the fish and chips as the belly pork I really fancied was off the menu. The chips were huge wedges, not chips and were not properly cooked. The fish was very greasy. The dessert menu left a lot to be desired only having a selection of stodgy typical English puddings. We have eaten here before over gge course of four or five years and the food has, always been gourmet standard. I don't know if there has been a change in ownership in recent times but I won't be going back unless the food improves drastically. And no I didn't complain at the time as my in-laws were paying and I didn't want to spoil their treat or embarrass them. To sum up, I could have done much better at home and the senior waitress who kept double-checking the order that our waitress had taken didn't inspire much confidence. They really need to up their game.
If it’s full outside there is a cosy inner courtyard, which we never knew was there and just as nice as the front. We visited The Junction on a sunny Saturday afternoon around 1:45pm. As we approached, the outside tables were full, when we reached the pub a table was just leaving. The staff made us feel very welcomed and couldn’t do enough for us. We didn’t want a full meal so asked for some nibbles. To our surprise we was offered a food platter. Wow, wow, wow. When it arrived is was amazing just want we wanted. We can’t rate this place enough and you should really give it a try. If it’s busy outside, pop in and checkout the courtyard.
The Junction Inn has garnered mixed reviews, reflecting both its potential and areas for improvement. While many diners praise the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious, generously portioned meals, there are concerns about inconsistent food quality and slow service. Some dishes, like the roast dinners and cheese and onion pie, received high marks, but others suffered from issues like soggy chips or lengthy wait times. Customers also noted a limited vegetarian menu. Overall, the restaurant is seen as a promising spot for hearty, homemade meals, with hopes that management will address the feedback to enhance the dining experience further.

A family of five, ranging in ages, visited the restaurant. We all enjoyed main meals, desserts, and drinks. The food was fantastic! The meat was tender and flavorful, with generous portions and great value for the price. I can't believe I've never dined here before, considering I live in Ashton. My only critique is that there was only one vegetarian option on the menu. We will definitely return in the future!
My partner and I dined at this restaurant on Saturday night and had a wonderful meal from the Valentine's menu. Every dish was exceptional, highlighting the skill of Chef Wayne. The staff were warm, courteous, and attentive, providing excellent service throughout our meal.
Well what aplesent, and quite unexpected surprise. Called in with my best friends today Sunday. We were just finished for the day. And as we always do wherever we go in the country. So I get to eat out at least to a week, and food quality, and taste is very important to me. So what a absolute change to find such a place by random, well I say random. I checked reviews first online. And was impressed by there feedback. What a lovely change, to sit in and relax, and feel welcomed in a local pub. And when I say local. I mean it is so much of a change to find a locally run pub with all of the staff being friendly and attentive to us all. But to top of this pubs relaxed atmosphere, and very friendly enviroment. The food was second to none. Traditional home cooked produce. That was full of beautiful flavours, extremely well presented. percent I will be returning to this excellent establishment. Thank you all.
It was my self and my Wife and two friends first time at the Junction Inn on Sunday the Let me get this out of the way first it was a shame we had to wait a while for our Sunday dinners to be...served. But that out of the way the staff were so professional and help full. and when the food was served it was all excellent I can recommend the Sunday Dinner. we will be going back soon. and will be recommending the Junction to my family and friends. Good lock to all the team for the future.
