Get to the wall location that is not lacking in the intimate environment that only serves authentic dishes here. The appetizers are served in al all-you-can-eat fashion: that means everything you can eat kimchi and miso soup Lobet the Lord! Another highlight before serving the main dishes is that you can help yourself homemade rice malt that is sweet and refreshing. Well, my favorite dish to come here is the Korean b... Food is extremely good! Once you have passed the fact that it doesn't look like your typical Tallahassee restaurant. The staff was super sweet and the serving even soup was extremely good. I like this in a city of pizza and burgers, which is a great, ethnic option.
No frills but delicious. Tried both the pork and beef bulgogi, both very good and satisfying, served with large portions of rice.
Ok, so, every time I go out of town, I like to eat at any Korean restaurants they have and right a review on Urbanspoon for them, I guess you could consider me an amateur Korean restaurant critic. For some reason, even though I've eaten here seven or eight times, I've yet to leave a review on my local restaurant, the only Korean restaurant in Tallahassee. So here it goes. I absolutely love it. The only thing I don't like is the small menu and the fact that there are only two banchan. Other than that, it's amazing. The restaurant owner is very hospitable, the hostesses are always kind, and the place has a very warm social atmosphere. Once you order your meal, you can get as many bowls of soup (the options are kimchi and miso) and as many plates of side dishes (the typical side dishes are kimchi and bean sprouts but occasionally they'll have pickled radish, which is my favorite of all Korean side dishes, in lieu of bean sprouts), both self serve. Also, most drinks are free, and the options are rice malt drink (called shikhye, very sweet, my favorite), barley tea (be warned, it's bitter), coffee, and water. You can also by canned sodas for a dollar. I've tried half of the menu items (bulgogi, sashimi bowl, japchae, and hot beef soup), and I loved them all. I'd seen pictures of japchae on Korean cooking videos before, and I never thought it looked good, but I tried it here and it was excellent. All of the portions are large enough, despite the fact that you also have unlimited soup and side dishes. You will never leave here hungry. I can guarantee you that because my best friend who eats like a bottomless pit and is always still hungry even after two meals at a regular restaurant was completely full after just one meal here. The owner is a nice Korean man who I've gotten to know over my many times dining here. He cares very much about his customers. One day I asked him why they don't have my favorite Korean food, kalbi, on the menu and he replied because the meat is very expensive and they would have to sell it at a price too high for most of the students (the general crowd at the restaurant because it is near campus) too afford. I also asked him what the difference between dolsot bibimbap and regular bibimbap is, and not only did he tell me that dolsot means that it is served in a stone bowl, but also went on to tell me that the reason why they don't sell it dolsot there is because they require chemicals to wash, and if it is washed with chemicals, then the customers would eat it, and he doesn't want that for his customers. The hostesses are also very willing to explain any of the items for those who are not experienced with Korean cuisine and are also willing to chat if you dine at the bar.
Delicious and vegetarian friendly!. I love this restaurant. The family who owns and works it are the nicest people I've ever met. If you are vegetarian or vegan you should try the sweet potato noodles which are loaded with a bunch of fresh veggies. Kimchi is vegan too!
A Tallahassee GEM! I eat here at least once a month with friends and the food is always amazing. The Bibimbap with Bulgogi is always a sure thing.
