Food is not bad, authentic small town food. Love the salted fish bean sprout, simple but tasty. The 'man tou ' us crispy out side and soft inside. Stingray fish curry, assam prawn otak was fairly tasty. Salted chicken looks dry outside but was moisture inside. View all feedback.
Probably one of the best curry fish head I've ever had (and I tend to try curry fish head to places that serve them).) another one of the shops that are made from a rebuilt house (which seems often in the taiping), there is an outside area and an air-conditioned inside surface. her salt baked huh (yim kuk kai) is quite delicious and very herbly. the assam garnels are large and fresh. all ingredients are very fresh and also very reasonable price. probably my favorite ice cream I tried in taiping
Traditional cooking with generous part. protected by local and tourist who have great taste buds. for many years here (lost counting) and the taste still promising. assam prawn, begler huhn, curry fishhead, roasted spring roll with black and also the fish in leaves are recommended. I'm so glad to be here again today. By the way, it's not really expensive.
Recommended. the food we ordered is beautiful and delicious. especially the assam fish.
For those living in KL/PJ area, you might have heard of Ah Lye Curry Fish head in SS19, Subang Jaya before. Many do not know that they originated from Taiping and Aun Loke is the mothership here in Pokok Assam area. The signboards in front of the restaurant make it hard to miss, though parking is very limited. Don 't be shocked at the lack of seating when you enter the restaurant, as the main dining hall is located on the left of the old wing . A spacious, air-confitioned, hall greets you with ample seating, making it a comfortable place to have a meal. Famous for their curry fish head (you can change it to fish meat instead), and some local favourites, Just ask your server and they 'll be more than happy to recommend the must-try dishes. Many go here not only for the curry fish head, but also assam prawns, salt baked chicken and bean paste deep fried pork as well. Prices are very reasonable and you 'd be hard pressed not wanting to make this a destination whenever you 're in Taiping.
Simple and nice. Simple food especially the bean sprout with salted fish. The salt baked chicken too but need to order day before. Reasonable priced.
