I ordered the chicken burritos and my friends enjoyed the other dishes on the menu. The prices are reasonable considering the taste and portion sizes. It is advisable to make a reservation to avoid a long wait. There is no service charge added. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, with good lighting for taking pictures. They also offer a vegetarian menu. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Campus Cafe Zhongxiao:
It's 2017 and some places are trying to pass this off as western food. (Note: I visited their pop-up location at Commune A7 I had a deluxe Caesar salad with grilled chicken 220NT/$7US): it's called deluxe because all the lettuce is romaine (not mixed with iceberg), but there isn't much of it to justify the $30 difference over not deluxe the grilled chicken is actually fried; they sprinkled corn flakes and cereals on... The interior and atmosphere of the restaurant are very charming and the food is generally excellent! I ordered a chicken salad with Japanese sesame dressing for 270nt, which came in a large bowl that could easily feed 2 people. I also enjoyed a delicious coffee martini with whipped cream, which was the perfect balance of sweetness and refreshment for a summer brunch. My friends tried the Thai-style pasta, double meat cheeseburger with fries, and various fruity desserts like mango and kiwi sorbet, all of which were delicious. However, some members of our group were disappointed when they ordered steak and received a Taiwanese night market-style dish with noodles and gravy, which was not what they expected based on the menu description. Overall, the restaurant is a great spot for brunch with friends, offering a variety of tasty drinks and filling entrees like salads, pasta, risotto, and burgers. The loaded nachos were also a hit. Although they don't have a University of Washington flag, the college campus theme is still well-executed. The cheesecakes looked tempting, but I was hesitant to try them as they didn't appear to be baked in my favorite style.
The food is delicious and the portion sizes are similar to those in America. The decor gives off a cozy cafe vibe, with a nod to campus aesthetics. The restaurant has done a great job in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, there is an indoor playground for children to enjoy while the adults eat and chat.
As always, a place with a lot of choices (apparent, salads, paninis, sandwiches/burgers, pastas, risottos, drinks, desserts...etc), and it never stops disappointing me. until this time. I had a kiwi-shake that became from what ground to a kiwi-milkshake, and it is the perfect mix for good cleaning, not for the weak. my personal favorites are her salmon salad and her risotto/pasta (each with pesto, do not recommend her tomato sauce tho. but this is just a personal choice).
Fun for larger group so you could chat and laugh without feeling being disturbed.
I ordered the Oreo cheesecake, chicken panini and the chicken quesadilla. The first two were good tasting and presentation was acceptable. We won’t talk about the third item. Prices are decent and the decor reminds me of a downtown college diner. Prices are at the meh stage... but that third item... clearly overpriced.
