I had the pineapple and taro sorbets, both were anazing! Place was packed, every seat full, seemed like a local hangout. Passed it the first time walking by, it's next to the organic store View all feedback.
I have half peanut and half pineapple. Really big part for $50. The peanut is really thick and creamy, while the pineapple is more of a muddy ice texture. Both tasted amazing. The owner is beautiful and explains how everyone was made and the different flavors (in Chinese, but an English menu is available)
I haven't had vegan ice cream in a while and was so excited when I learned that this place exists! BeiMen Feng LiBing is a super local ice cream shop (unlike lots of other vegan ice cream parlors who act all fancy .. and offers a great selection of local flavors. The ice cream has a very subtle sweetness to it which I really liked. These were the flavors they had: Pineapple Lychee Taro Salty Plum Peanut Mung Bean Longan These are the flavors that I tried: TARO: Super creamy, wonderful flavor PEANUT: Less creamy, more crunchy not particularly sweet They came in a paper cup and I ended up paying 50 TND for it. I LOVED both of the flavors and if you are into peanuts then I highly recommend giving the peanut on a try! If you are into ice cream that's got a subtle sweetness to it then I highly recommend it! I love that they are playing around with local ingredients! : Updated from previous review on 2018 08 31
This restaurant is a hidden gem located on a quiet street with minimal signage. At first glance, I mistook it for a garage. However, locals flock to this spot for a reason. They serve delicious handmade vegan ice cream in generous portions that will delight your taste buds and give you a brain freeze at the same time. I tried a mixed cup of Taro and Peanut flavors, and it was one of the best vegan ice creams I've ever had. While the consistency may not be perfect, the flavor more than makes up for it. The prices are affordable, the portions are large, and you're even encouraged to rinse your cup and spoon in the sink outside after enjoying your treat. This is a must-visit spot in Taipei!
For 50 TWD, you can choose a combination of two flavors in a large cup at this restaurant. They also offer a small cup option, but you can only choose one flavor. The texture is reminiscent of gelato, being thick but not as heavy as regular ice cream. The taste is very natural and not overly sweet. The location is near Zhongxiao Dunhua station exit 3 (Blue line), and the shop is close to the Flourish restaurant.
This traditional vegan shop in Taipei sells chilled desserts in various flavors. Each flavor has a unique texture, such as the peanut flavor being like crumbly shaved ice and the taro flavor being creamy and starchy. Most flavors are priced at TW$50, and you can choose 1-2 flavors for your bowl (except for the specialty flavors where you can only choose one). If you need an English menu, just ask for one. The décor of the shop is simple and old-fashioned, with folding tables and fans. After enjoying your dessert, head outside to the right where you can find a sink to wash your bowl and spoon. Don't forget to recycle them in the designated places.
