Of course the furnishings could be better and newer etc. Then it would probably be twice as expensive. For two nights in the Castle , I think it was completely ok, my room and bathroom were clean, tidy and quite large. Rooms: 3 Service: 4 Location: 5
Such a great experience at this hotel! Great atmosphere, amazing staff, and outstanding food! An easy walk into town makes this a perfect choice for a holiday. John and everyone at this hotel made our stay a wonderful time. This place is a must if you’re ever close to Tain!
The reality did not meet my expectations. The room was located in the rear attached section, after a literally circular tour of the castle, I began to think that they accommodated us in the broom room, as it was far away. Prepare your muscles with big suitcases or you'll have arms outstretched like an orangutan. But not to insult, the room was big and clean. The equipment of the castle is nice. Breakfast is also relatively ok. I would just expect fresh fruit and not compote.

Just stopped at the Mansfield for the night. It's old but spotlessly clean, which is the main thing. The staff were lovely and attentive to my.2 doggies. Didn't eat here, so can't comment on that. The bath had plenty of hot water, I live in my.motorhome full time, so this was a treat and I'm leaving very happy. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
