I finally made my way there after a trip to Costco to see what all the fuss was about. The prices were very reasonable; you can choose any three items from their menu for just NT$100! I opted for the crispy stuffed glutinous rice, zongzi, and grass jelly with a plant-based creamer. The stuffed glutinous rice was indeed crispy and tasty, but I was a bit unsure about the pink sauce on top. The zongzi was dry and plain, so I asked for some soy sauce paste to make it more palatable. My favorite part was the grass jelly, even though I suspect the creamer was artificial. Unfortunately, my mouth felt overly salty hours later, possibly from the soy sauce paste. Next time, I'll try the sesame paste noodles instead.
A few months ago, one of my classmates raved about the crispy vegan beans and stuffed glutinous rice at this restaurant. I finally decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices. For only NT$100, you can choose three items from the menu, which is a great deal. I opted for the crispy beans, zongzi, and grass jelly with a plant-based creamer. The beans were indeed crispy and delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the pink sauce on top. The zongzi was a bit dry, so I had to ask for some soy sauce to make it easier to eat. However, my favorite dish was the grass jelly. Despite suspecting that the creamer was artificial, I still enjoyed it. Unfortunately, a few hours later, I felt like I had consumed too much salt, possibly from the soy sauce. I hope to try the sesame paste noodles next time.
A few months ago, my classmate raved about the crispy vegan babuan-filled glutinous rice at this place. I finally went to check it out after Costco. The prices for the food are very reasonable; you can choose three items from the extensive menu and only pay NT 100! I decided to try the crispy babuan, zongzi, and grazgeleim with a plant-based sauce. The babuan was crispy and delicious, as advertised, but I found the pink sauce to be a bit confusing. The employees said it was a sweet sauce, but I couldn't quite place the flavor. The zongzi was too dry, and I had to ask for some soy sauce to help it go down easier. My favorite dish was the grazgeleim. I'm pretty sure the plant-based cream is partially artificial, but oh well. The downside was that a few hours later, my mouth felt extremely salty. I'm hoping it was because I used too much soy sauce on the zongzi. Next time, I'll try the sesame paste instead.
