This small, home-style American restaurant has a cozy vibe. Our waiter was friendly and took our takeout order with great politeness. However, we found the food to be quite salty. Both the mushroom soup and the tomato sauce on the linguini were overly seasoned, and we usually enjoy food with a heavier hand on the seasoning. Spoon is my favorite restaurant in North Lake Tahoe. Have never been disappointed! They know what they do well and keep the menu streamlined! Both the presentation taste are always top notch. And their desserts made daily are a must-have! Plus you canbring your own drinks, no corkage fee!
This place is a little gem. Heads up it?s BYOB and there is a little market across the street. The food was tasty and fresh. It is run by a super sweet couple the husband cooks and the wife runs the front of house. She also makes all the desserts fromscratch. (Pecan tart special was to die for). Service, food and vibes were all 5 star!
My husband and I stayed in South Lake Tahoe but wanted to get a bite to eat more North and find Spoon in a Google search. We are so glad that we made the drive, as it is probably one of the best culinary experiences we had in Tahoe. Highlights were the mac n cheese with pears, the meatballs with vegetables (so good), and the cheese cake bar. Be aware, it is all outdoor eating, so come with warm options.
A small but excellent menu of fresh homemade dishes. The poached pear macaroni and cheese is worth going for on its own. Everyone I was in contact with was friendly and genuine. And the restaurant is immaculately clean. It was easy to give them five stars, as it is worth every one of them.
Amazing food! Great flavor and options. All outdoor dining. There is an indoor restroom. They have heaters when it is cold but it's very shaded so dress appropriately. Regardless of the weather food is sooo worth it.
