Mamou restaurant offers a mix of experiences, with some reviewers expressing disappointment in their meals and service while others praise the quality of the food and the ambiance. While some customers had issues with the timing of their bill and the service received, others found the angus ribeye steak to be delicious and worth the price. My boyfriend decided to treat me at mamou bgc for my birthday. We ordered 28 day dry aged usda prime grade t bone steak (700grams of goodness) and it comes together with two additional of sidings. Choice of japanese/ red steak rice, corn pudding, creamed spinach...and baked macaroni. For our sides we ordered the japanese steak rice and red steak rice and additional creamed spinach. The difference between ribeye steak and dry aged steak is that the meat of angus rib eye is a lot juicier than dry aged. We enjoyed our food. And mamou staffs gave me a cupcake and they sing a song for me. Its a memorable birthday for me.

Mamou is highly raved about and so my friend and I finally gave it a go oneSunday night. We visited the Mamou branch in Serendra and they were full. Hostess was kind and offered to place us on the wait list. We didn’t have to...wait ling though. We received a call within 15mins and was seated al fresco. The place in this branch is very small and ambiance I would rate it 3.5 out of 5. Could be more comfy. We had the angus ribeye twin (800g), truffle cream pasta and a side of fries. Starting with the steak, we ordered it medium rare although personally I think it’s on the medium side already. Maybe a couple of slices from the middle part would pass as med rare but the rest of the slices are on the chewier side. However, flavor-wise and for the price we’re paying for it, it’s not bad. I might still give the porterhouse steak a go next time. The truffle pasta on the other hand, like their steak, is so-so. But I love the generous serving. I’m still keen on trying the meatballs pasta or the Vongole on our next visit.

I asked the restaurant staff about their closing time 19 hours before we arrived, and they said they close at 8pm. However, when we got there, the waiter refused to serve us as they were closing around 7pm. Interestingly, they seated a European man with a Filipino woman right after we left.

I was pleasantly surprised by Mamou's high quality and delicious steaks. Despite my initial concerns about a potential lack of flavor, Mamou exceeded my expectations. The 400g steak I ordered was large, juicy, and cooked perfectly, even after being delivered. The steak was accompanied by tasty sides such as Yorkshire pudding, steak sauce, rice, creamy spinach, and corn pudding, all of which complemented the dish well. Overall, Mamou offers great value for money and I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future.
