I had high expectations for Bubu after seeing all the hype on TikTok, so I decided to check it out a few nights ago. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the buzz. My little one ordered the Bubu dipping bar in strawberry, which came with three strawberry pieces on top. I assumed it would include the dip topping as advertised, but there seemed to be some confusion with the staff. It turned out that the flavor we chose was premade and no dip topping was included. For an ice cream bar priced at 220 PHP, I expected more. To make matters worse, the ice cream was incredibly sour—so much so that my child only took one bite and refused to have any more, despite loving strawberries. The sourness completely overshadowed the chocolate. While the place is visually appealing, that’s about all it has going for it.
The gelato is excellent, but the cashier's demeanor left much to be desired. When we visited last Tuesday and ordered two scoops to share among four people, one of my friends picked up three spoons, and I realized we were missing one. When I asked for an extra spoon, the cashier seemed to obstruct me and gave us a disapproving look. If she had simply mentioned that there would be a fee for the additional spoon, we would have been happy to pay. Instead, her response made us feel as though we had done something wrong. It would have been much more pleasant if she had communicated in a friendly manner instead of making us feel uncomfortable.
Delicious vegan ice cream! I tried the pistachio bar covered in dark chocolate sauce and sprinkled with pistachio nuts. It was a tasty and guilt-free indulgence. My boyfriend enjoyed the soft serve ice cream. The place has a charming ambiance!
