What Glenn C doesn't like about Kasagpan Resort:
BLUF: Adequate facilities near the ferry port. PRO: Clean spacious rooms, two pools, ocean view, enough space to adequately isolate the facilities from the crowded neighborhood, decent WiFi. CON: OK restaurant food and service, inadequate A/C units, dated bathrooms and electrical outlets. NOTE: In a crowded urban/suburban area (far from the tourist Panglao area) that is void of any Western restaurants. Only mediocre... View all feedback.
If you're searching for a fast swim in the city with an amazing view, this place is a must-visit. There is a fee to access the pool, and it cannot be used as credit at the restaurant. Additionally, we weren't provided with towels, so it's a good idea to bring your own.
The Mediterranean food they offer is outstanding and authentic. The location provides the best sunset view on a clear day.
It seemed like a great place for me to relax, so I decided to visit and spend some time lounging in the lobby.
I've heard about Kasagpan for a while, but every time I've tried to go, it was closed. I'm glad I finally got the chance to experience their Indian food with friends. Everything was delicious, except for the lassi, which is one of my favorite drinks—it tasted a bit like diluted Yakult. I also found it amusing that they offered beef curry, considering it's supposed to be an Indian restaurant. Overall, it's a great spot for an intimate dinner, and if you get the chance to see the sunset, it's beautiful. Perhaps that's where they got their name from.
However, the restaurant is managed separately, and our experience there was less than satisfactory. The menu offered a limited selection of food, consisting primarily of two options: Filipino cuisine, which is expected given that we're in the Philippines, and Indian food. It's puzzling why Indian cuisine would be the only other option available at a resort. In conclusion, while the resort is beautiful and serene, it certainly could benefit from an update to its menu.
