I visited this place several times for lunch. You can always choose something new. I don't eat meat and therefore this place is ideal for me. Of course, the execution of dishes is not always at a good level, but in fact it is generally the only place in Bohol with Japanese cuisine! I like miso soup, gedza, fried rice and california rolls.
We were a party of four and arrived for a late lunch. On enquiring whether they had a meal for four the waitress informed us 'there are no meals for four '. On asking whether she was certain of this she produced a different menu and sure enough, they did serve meals for four. We ordered the meal and I ordered a beer. My beer did not arrive until after the waitress had brought some soup bowls and cutlery. Next, a tureen of noodle soup was placed on the table but with no ladle for transferring the soup into our individual bowls. When we asked how this task should be achieved, we were told to use the small soup spoons provided. When I asked to see the head waitress she said that there were no ladles or even large serving spoons in the kitchen. Her final solution was to give us a large fork which is not the most useful implement for transferring a soup. In addition to the soup a very small plate of chicken was provided and some rice. Overall a terrible experience from all angles. The service was abysmal and the food awful. I would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant I gave a positive review on this restaurant a couple of years ago and it is very sad to see a once pleasant venue degenerate into a nightmare experience.
I've been craving for some Japanese food for quite some time... and being this restaurant as the only Japanese restaurant in Tagbilaran I know of, I went in. Ordered California maki and a bowl of ramen. The tobiko on the California maki was scant, was eehhh. Worst of all, the noodle was super mushy! You can barely pick it up with chopsticks coz it falls apart. I told two different waitresses regarding this and they just nodded as if it was no big deal. I've been in other branches of Rairai Ken before, but I never had such a disappointing experience... Very, very disappointing.
1st of all there are no sushis. The service is extremely poor the waitresses obviously don 't like their work/customer service. It is inspired by Japanese food but this is far from any Japanese food. Quality is bad and if you go washing your hands, as you will be doing it in the kitchen you can see how disgusting is the place explaining why the food taste and look so bad. Even fast food do better for cheaper... To avoid as plague...
Foods are good but they served only little amount of it. It's good for a diet person only. The green tea is expensive as they're using only the regular lipton green tea in the market.
