Café Iberia - Tacuarembo

A truly uruguay bar. not a modern bar or a chain like la pasiva, but it has a really local feeling, with good, attentive and friendly staff. under new management they now make a good warm meal, but really it is a bar for drinkers. they also have an amazing original 1950s (or so) Italian coffee machine. open M-F from approx. 7.30 clock to approx. 10 o'clock; not open on late Saturday and closed on Sunday. only three blocks from the plaza de la independencia.

In the first 15 minutes I saw two 60 year old men kicked out separately to try to start fighting. friendly bartender made sure that beer was full and old men were held back. when I left in a pulli a damaging man and a worn-out suit showed me his idea and claimed he was more political. he said I should come back tomorrow. if I don't post a follow-up assessment on Sunday, I'm dead, kidnapped or possibly for political office.

Ultra cozy place near the beautiful old church. ask for cappuccino, its like 3 cappuccinos at any other place

Muy tradicional, es como que se hubiera quedado en el tiempo, las paredes y la decoración te dejan en claro que es un lugar con mucha historia, disfrute mucho mi expreso al lado de la ventana, la verdad me gusto.

Es un lugar espectacular con esa magia de volver a las épocas de los años 50 de café y bar de la época
