small neighbourhood restaurant with street parking. foi gras appetizer was easy on the leber, but contain several sautéed morels that formed for them. had the act and garnel. filet mignon was excellent. a bit muddy, tasty, but very granular, and the buds were barely edible. they feel that they need to focus more on all aspects of the meal. What John Alhelm doesn't like about The Table:
Food is great, but disingenuous when it comes bill time. Hence, you pay $50 to reserve a table. 20 percent gratuity is already included. When you get the bill the tip column is blank. Be careful. You can inadvertently top the 20 percent tip that you already paid in the dollar amount of food you bought.I m a great tipper. Great service then the waiter waitress deserve a great tip. Food was all top-notch excellent. Beer and wine only, unfortunately. Chairs were rather uncomfortable no padding. Room was large and there was no way to get a quiet booth. Aside from these things, the quality of the meal would make me return to try more. Yum!
This was my first time at the Table and I am impressed! They change up their menu 50 60 times a year based on what they can get fresh from the farm so you’re in for a treat every time. Pictured: Gnocchi Mac n cheese so pillowy soft and cheesy Farm salad Hanger steak with roasted veggies as I type this I went back to their menu for more details and they now have new options. it’s THAT fresh. Can’t believe it took me this long to try it, but I’ll be back soon. Follow @mk.eats.the.street for more local Tacoma spots!
The Table is a delightful, classy spot for a ladies night out. Excited to learn about a rotating menu, so this dinner featured a tasty elk dish, Mac n cheese gnocchi (to die for if it's on the menu and you love cheese EAT THIS! , and pork, with beignets as dessert. There is a variety of wines and house brewed sodas, too!
This place was recommended by another restaurant staff at place we dine at quite a bit. Pretty good place to start for a recommendation. There’s only street side parking and that can be a little tough but it’s worth it. The service was great, friendly. The place is not small but close and cozy. The food varies with availability but it’s hard to imagine that they don’t make the best of what’s available on a weekly basis. We had the Mac and cheese gnocchi— fantastic! We also had a fresh beet and squash salad— great. Main courses of an earthy broth sturgeon dish and a parsnip dish with risotto. I know, parsnips, but it was really good. Good wine selection too.
We got the duck and the ribeye and both were spectacular and perfectly cooked. The homemade sodas were delicious and I am already craving more. Their menu changes all the time as they are truly farm to table. We will be back to try new menus!
