Contribute FeedbackDespite a mix of reviews, Rhein Haus in Tacoma offers a unique German experience, though some find it lacking post-pandemic. The atmosphere is quirky, but the food quality has been inconsistent, with some guests unimpressed by the menu and service. On a positive note, the waitress was outstanding, making the guests feel welcome and well looked after. Overall, the cozy and fun environment, along with delicious food and reasonable prices, may make it worth a return visit. The addition of games and activities adds to the appeal, making it a promising dining option in Tacoma.
So surprised by the negative reviews, as we enjoyed both the setting and the food! Not sure what these Tacoma gourmands are expecting, but we just wanted some good food in an upbeat atmosphere, and that is what we got. The tres amigos appetizer was fun and tasty, the verde chicken enchiladas I had were delicious, my daughter really enjoyed the chicken mole, and my husband liked his roja chicken enchiladas. Margaritas we had were all good (purist, guava ginger, and prickly pear), although like most restaurants/bars these days, there was too much ice and not enough drink! Oh, we shared a flan and enjoyed that, too. Service was great, and the value was pretty standard in terms of what we paid (we each ended up with to go boxes since the portions were generous). We'll be going back!
The dining experience would be improved with a wider variety of menu options. The service was pleasant, however, they did not acknowledge the birthday as requested in the reservation.
The food and prices were good, and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. However, parking could be a problem if the restaurant and park were busy. Overall, I enjoyed my experience.
I loved Poquitos in Capitol Hill years ago, but the Tacoma location does not compare well. A disappointment was our server who told us that they didn’t have items but only when we asked about them or tried to order them. Another problem is that we informed the server that we did not want cilantro and one of the Moles was heavy with it and it was not in the description. The margaritas were tasty but presented without much style. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
Guacamole and chips were great but the rest of the food was very meh. Most of us got tacos of all different types, and every single one of us complained that they were dry and bland. Also menu was pretty weak and boring. Cocktails were underwhelming. This is not the same quality as the Poquitos in Seattle.
