Nestled in a cozy corner, this charming diner captures the essence of a family-owned establishment. The inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious offerings keep patrons coming back for more. Diners rave about the fried chicken, fresh beef burgers, and tender breaded veal, while sides like grilled squash and Jo-Jo's elevate the meal experience. With a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of old-school cafes, it's a place where families create lasting memories. Love this place. So tasty, so real. Never change!!!!!! 4/5 for service only because they don't keep to their listed hours. We've come within listed hours (maybe an hour before closing which should be enough time to not be obnoxious about storming the kitchen at the end of the night), and we were denied b/c it had been slow and they were closing early. But honestly I'll take it if means they'll keep it real as a true... View all feedback.
What Deanna Carkeek dislikes about Anglea's:
This diner is charming, tidy, and cozy. The fried chicken is incredibly tasty and comes in a generous portion. We will definitely be returning for more dishes and more chicken! View all feedback.
We have been dining at angleas for about yen years and gave never been disappointed very friendly staff, great food, nice atmosphere what a restaurant SHOULD be live this place!
I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! The staff is wonderful, and it's just a fantastic place to visit. They are always friendly, and the food is amazing! I can't wait for it to reopen so I can go back. My family has been visiting since I was a child.
I first visited Anglea's in the 1980s when I was a police officer in Tacoma. The chicken, jo's, and pies were so delicious that all the officers working in the south end would eat there several times a week. After I moved to the eastern part of the county and retired from the police force, I didn't go back to Anglea's for many years. Now, as a professional dog trainer who travels to my clients, I noticed one day that Anglea's had been closed due to a fire, and I hoped they would reopen soon. It took 15 months, but they are back! I ordered chicken and jo's to go and was told it would take about 20 minutes. They kindly offered me free coffee while I waited, and when the food was ready, it did not disappoint—it was just as amazing as I remembered, if not better! This isn't a fast-food place; it's a family-owned restaurant with truly fantastic food. I highly recommend Anglea's!
Unfortunate experience at what seems to be well loved restaurant. *waitstaff claimed kitchen staffmember walked off the job during breakfast. *It took 55 minutes to get my salad the other 4 members of my party wanted pancakes. They were at capacity, as far as tables, but still: an hour for what was clearly a bagged salad and some pancakes? Waitstaff unapologetic and super inattentive...imcompetence vibes from the start. Our food came at different times, over probably a 5 10 min period they bring the bill with the food...we 'll get to back to that shortly. I got about half way through my salad before I scooped a bite up with my fork and proceeded to bite down on a 3 long toothpick ya 'know the kind, with colorful celephane twisted around one end, used for skewering a Club Sandwich. I thought it was a bone from the chicken at first, but nope. How in the F& ?! did that accidentally end up in my salad? I asked the waitress, when she came to check in. I was calm, but maybe should 've made more of an issue of it. She tried to make a joke, ...oh, you didn 't like that? I said no and she never returned not even to adjust the bill which she 'd dropped off with the food. $85 for four orders of pancakes and one salad.
