What Lamont B doesn't like about 208 Garfield:
The customer service is top tier when entering or leaving someone makes it their responsibility to speak. The atmosphere is soothing and always welcoming. One key component, you receive a glass of ice cold water and don't forget to ask for a straw View all feedback.
Excellent food with and extremely friendly staff. The students working there do a great job. We were down for a basketball tournament and ate here both days.
Cute little place with friendly staff. The salad I had was pretty good but the coffee wasn't. I'll go back again to try other menu items but I probably won't be ordering coffee there again.
I had gone here multiple times with great experiences every time. Tonight, I went in with looking to relax and unwind from work with my book, charcuterie, and wine. Clearly, their employees don’t know how well sound travels in the restaurant, or maybe they just thought I was out of ear shot. Unfortunately, I heard two employees talking loudly about how stupid it is to come to a restaurant to just order a wine sampler and meat/cheese boards (I ordered 2 from the happy hour menu), and how it’s “like coming to a restaurant and ordering a bowl of Cheetos, it’s so dumb”. This continued on for several minutes, and if I could hear loud and clear, I am sure the others in the restaurant could too. I paid and left right away. Upon calling to inform a manager for future customers, I was immediately cut off and could not even tell her what they had said, and was told I should have said something when I was there. I was honestly in complete shock. Needless to say I will not be going back.
I 've had a great time the two other times I came here. Today, I came here at 7:20 (40 minutes before they closed) for a sandwich and a beer. A guy that I 've never seen greeted us with we close at 8. Dining in? Take a seat. We ordered a beer, then we never had a server come by again. We were studiously ignored (all eye contact avoided. If they accidentally glanced at our table, they fully turned away from us). We tried to get our server 's attention for 25 minutes before we gave up and went to pay for our beer. When we went to pay, we asked the man who greeted us what time the kitchen closed (because we hadnt had this kind of experience before), and he said we usually stop serving hot food at 7:30, especially if we 've had a hard day. I get the frustrations of food service, but that was no reason to actively ignore us until we left. We would have been satisfied with them telling us the kitchen was closed/closing. The whole experience was a real shame.I don 't know if I 'll go back, but I 'll post an update if I do, and my experience changes.UPDATE: we went across the street to Farelli 's, and apparently, the employee is a known problem. The bartender saw us come from across the street and asked why we left, then said, Was it the tall guy with the dark, curly hair? He 's got a reputation for sending business towards Farelli 's!
Just ordered on Uber Eats and I’m unsure if in-store it’s a similar experience but this tiny tiny technically side salad was $14. Can we figure that out? The cup of soup was half empty as well. Everything tasted amazing but I spent $22 on lunch for what Vegetarian options: Tempeh add on for protein Service: Delivery Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
