As a visitor from the Midwest, we are accustomed to encountering friendly individuals. If you are looking to meet some friendly faces in Syracuse, then make your way to Wheelers on Avery Ave.
After passing by this restaurant for 40 years, I finally decided to stop in for a drink. The interior was much smaller than I had anticipated.
Located on Tipp Hill, this restaurant is the perfect spot for a laid-back evening. The food and drinks are delicious, and the bartender on Friday nights is exceptional. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great choice for a relaxed night out.
Ate here for dinner on a Friday night. Although the menu is limited to what was up on the board fish fry Friday, pork chop, mac and cheese, and various fired sides, I will be coming back! Wife had the fish said it was the best she has ever had with a perfect, non greasy crisp and I had both the mac and cheese and pork chop with both being phenomenal. Great drinks, and a laid back crowd, which can be very difficult to find on Tipp Hill any night, let alone on a Friday. We will be definitely going back again!
Warm inviting atmosphere. Friendly regulars welcomed a couple of Tarheels with stories of Cuse sports and fly fishing. We felt welcome enough to stay a long while. Great place for laughs and beers. Looking forward to getting back there soon
