We visited the cider mill for the third time last week to celebrate our jubilee. We sat outside on their new terrace, and the service was fantastic. Our meals, the roasted salmon and crispy tofu stir-fry, were absolutely delicious. With drinks, including a beer, four glasses of house wine, and dessert, our total came to just over $100. They even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne after my wife ment... View all feedback.
What User dislikes about The Cider Mill:
The restaurant didn't have white Zinfandel or Stella beer available. The service was poor; I requested ice with my water, but it never arrived. We waited an entire hour for our food to be served. We opted for a Caesar salad instead of an appetizer, or our meal would have taken even longer—up to two hours. We noticed other tables were also waiting a long time for their meals. While the portions were generous, the food... View all feedback.
We had reservations for 2 people, but upon arrival we were informed that there had been a cancellation and we could choose to sit outside if we preferred. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The riggies were excellent, and I opted for the roasted chicken which was perfectly tender and moist. For dessert, I had the flourless chocolate cake with black raspberry ice cream. My husband ordered the smoked salmon pasta and Strawberry Rhubarb shortcake, both of which he enjoyed. He also loved the Strawberry Rhubarb Negroni cocktail he had with his meal!
High quality, thoughtful and really well made food. One of our favorite local spots in Syracuse. Their menu changes seasonally, keeping it fresh and they do takeout. We definitely prefer to sit outside whenever possible and if you're going on a Thursday,Friday or Saturday, be sure to make a reservation. We love the Cider Mill!
The food at this restaurant was amazing. We ordered an appetizer, entrees, and shared a dessert, and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Our waiter was very friendly. The restaurant has a classy menu but a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the cider mill and sampling items from each part of the menu. The mixed drinks were excellent too - I had a great old fashioned and vodka cranberry. I will definitely be returning!
While traveling through New York, we accidentally discovered this charming restaurant. The service exceeded even our high expectations, with the owner and waitstaff being incredibly friendly. We were genuinely impressed by their kindness and hospitality, and they managed to strike the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us space to enjoy our meal. A lovely extra touch was how accommodating they were to our dog on the patio. Our food was elegantly presented, and the portion sizes were generous, featuring fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. As road-tripping foodies, we felt we got great value for our money here. The burrata paired with fresh grilled peaches, pecans, and hot honey created a flavor combination that I now crave regularly! The arancini started with a delightful crunchy exterior that led to tender risotto filled with flavorful mushrooms. For drinks, we tried the cider mill mule and the Strawberry Rhubarb Negroni. Both were expertly crafted; the Negroni had the perfect balance of sweetness while bursting with fresh strawberry flavor, possibly thanks to the rhubarb bitters. I ordered the salmon with farfalle, while my partner chose the quarter chicken. My portion was massive and brightened with dill and capers, with the pasta cooked al dente. The smokiness of the salmon provided a lovely depth to the cream sauce, which was rich yet light when sprinkled with lemon juice. As for the chicken... oh my goodness! I don't think we've ever had chicken so expertly prepared—the skin was perfectly crispy, and the glaze had a delightful mild sweetness. The meat was moist and practically fell off the bone. We were tempted to order a second! Remarkably, we still had room for dessert. The apple cider donut looked just as amazing as the photos from the reviews suggested. It was fabulous! As both a donut lover and an autumn enthusiast, I had high expectations, and they were definitely met. It had a wonderful structure that could hold a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream without becoming soggy, and its flavor was subtly spiced.
Tonight, I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The chefs and bartenders are incredibly skilled, and every dish I ordered was both delicious and fulfilling. The menu changes four times a year, providing a well-rounded and flavorful selection of options. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Syracuse area, and I am truly grateful for it. The outstanding food and drinks make it an ideal choice for a special date night. I also appreciate their accommodation for gluten-free guests, which made me feel welcomed and valued. Thank you for an wonderful dining experience!
