We were on vacation in Sydney and looked at reviews for a French restaurant in the city and we came across this gem. We were there just past the lunch rush hour. We ordered the onion soup, oysters, the lunch-only burger and the trout. Superb food, and we really wished we had space for dessert. Staff too were welcoming and accommodating. Definitely will come back here the next time we visit Sydney. View all feedback.
What Twila Bashirian doesn't like about Bistro Guillaume:
Food was ok, but nothing special in view of the price. I had a better French food in Sydney for much less money. Portions were modest and the experience was not very memorable. Grief

But the worst part was the service - it was very poor when the staff seemed seemingly crashed and something is not helpful. Drinks arrived after I had had my entree, and I waited for more than 30 minutes for my desorn order, with w... View all feedback.
Arrived from London in the morning and virtually straight to the restaurant. Had a lovely meal which set me up for the rest of the day. Was very busy but waiters were excellent. I was going to have fish but was persuaded to have Steak Frites which were as good as in Paris!

We had a large group for lunch. Good things included: nice alcove with a private table food was good (but not remarkable) wine list is good but pricy Could improve: service not particularly friendly or efficient (I know a large table presents challenges but each step seemed to take too long) Thanks
It feels like being in a bustling New York bistro, great vibes, superb staff and wonderful food. Terrific in every way.
We have lunched here several times and the decor is stunning, the food is amazing and the red wine never fails to disappoint. I can highly recommend the souffle, such fabulous cheesy goodness. However the service is like so many places now, once the main course is delivered, you effectively disappear from view. Apart from the lady who stalked us to remove our almost empty wine glasses, every interaction from main course on required us to stare intently at any passing wait staff and asking for dessert menus, coffee orders, the bill and even to pay the bill. We will be back and hopefuly next time we will be served in time to manage to squeeze in dessert
