Great menu can’t think of anything else I want on a pub menu Burgers, Mac Cheese, Bratwurst, loaded chips. Great variety too that’ll surely tickle anyone’s tastebuds. I had the lamb burger which was meaty but minty and fresh. My gf had the confit hoisin Duck Mac Cheese which I initially thought was a strange combination, but was actually very good. Quick service. What freddiedoncaster doesn't like about The Sun Inn:
I called in this evening for a pre dinner drink. It’s more of an ale pub than a bar, as I asked for Kraken rum and they didn’t have it. The staff were pleasant enough and the set up was good, however I didn’t care for all the abstract art for sale on the walls. I feel whoever painted them needs to come in and paint the walls of the bar, as they look desperately in need of a lick of paint. View all feedback.

Credit where credits due, upon return to the pub a few weeks later by members of the family, the food had improved (this time hot and tasty) and all comments were good, so yes well done The Sun, I too will return soon, its hard being consistent that we all appreciate, and you can't please all the people all off the time.....
We went as a family of 7, for Sunday lunch. It was very busy. The manager is very rude, and generally unpleasant surprised he is employed by Arkells. Staff do not appear to have had any training in food hygiene or indeed customer service at all. They had run out of lots of items on the menu. We will not be going back, and I would suggest people avoid the place.
Visited on 12th April for lunch. What a terrible mistake! Do not even bother, the food was cold and service was atrocious. Basically, do not waste your money here as the staff don’t even care when you complain.
Visited on: 14.04.2024- yes the food was nice but there was only 1 waitress who was working very hard but could see she was struggling ! The manager Barry was not very welcoming to his customers, and there was food on the menu that was not available and they didn’t take it off the menu. We ordered 3 chicken burgers and one of them looked like a children’s meal and when we spoke to the manager about it he was being very rude. It took ages to bring the food out as well. Will not be visiting again!
