I ordered wacky viennas and chips for the kids and the viennas was over cooked.

My review is purely on my experience ordering a coffee and not on the food. The waiter didn't greet me as I entered or asked if he could assist me. I feel like... read more My review is purely on my experience ordering a coffee and not on the food. The waiter didn't greet me as I entered or asked if he could assist me. I feel like I interrupted him while he was folding napkins. I ordered a black coffee, he brought me a coffee with milk as he didn’t listen or pay attention. I already payed at this stage and just left. Will not spend my money here again and unfortunately can’t recommend.

The garden dining area was what sealed the deal for us as we have l... read more We visited the restaurant at Mill Hops in Swellendam, it looked quite inviting from outside. The garden dining area was what sealed the deal for us as we have little kids. We arrive just after 11am but they were still kind enough to accommodate us by serving us breakfast after it had ended. The garden area was very neat and looked stunning. With multiple levels and the kids play area up top, we went straight for a table next to the kiddies “jungle gym”. It seems you can bring your pets there as well as a family walked in with their little dog. The menu is a little pricey but this may be due to the venue also being accommodation. We ordered the R86 breakfast which came only 1 toast, bacon, 2 eggs and a slice of tomato. I have to admit though that the bread was amazing, not your average toast/bread. The eggs were done to perfection and the bacon was nicely grilled and not oily. The food, in short, was fantastic quality. So the price was justified. The kids ordered the kiddies chicken nuggets and chips, these were also great. If you are worried about the price, it’s well worth the food and the setting is really stunning on a good weather day. I would recommend the restaurant, we would definitely go again. The entrance has steps but they also have a wheelchair option.
