I've been searching for good BBQ in Eastern Tennessee for the past seven months, especially ribs. We visited this restaurant during a two-hour window, and we were the only customers for most of that time, which surprised me given how fantastic the food was. The quality of the food was disappointing. The baked beans had an odd mix of beans and lacked any BBQ flavor. The ribs were overcooked and greasy.
The food was really disappointing. My wife ordered takeout from Jack's BBQ, and it was a letdown. The BBQ tasted like chili, the macaroni was terrible, and the pulled pork was dry. I live less than five minutes away, yet the food arrived cold. We won't be returning; the pulled pork platter was just awful.

The prompt and friendly service, along with the lovely outdoor seating, made for an excellent experience. The food was enjoyable, including chicken BBQ sandwiches, potato salad, smoked mac and cheese, and a pork platter. The vinegar-based sauce was sweet with a nice kick to it.
Been in Eastern TN for 7 mo looking for good BBQ, esp. ribs. For 2 hours(4-6), we were the only customers. Can't understand why because the meat was melt-in-the-mouth delicious. The brisket was so tender I should have used a spoon to pick it off theplate. Ribs were very tender and burnt ends succulent. Slaw was sliced, not chopped, with right amount of seasoning. Ourpartners were pleased with the smoked mac chs. Basic menu. Wished there was a a choice of sauces(reg, sweet spicy); but ....Portions were just right, nothing to take home.
