Contribute FeedbackThe Toby Carvery offers a solid Sunday Carvery option, with various dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. While some service hiccups were experienced, overall it was a pleasant dining experience. The menu is budget-friendly, with options priced between £1-20, making it a go-to for a casual meal out. The waitstaff were accommodating, and the carvery options were vast and well-prepared. There were some minor complaints from diners about individual dishes, but the general consensus points to a positive review for Toby Carvery as a solid choice for a low-cost Sunday lunch option.
Had Christmas lunch menu December 2017, Christmas menu. 2 course starter main with mint cake and coffee or tea for £1 extra. We all went for the starter of prawn Cocktail-Starter and Carvery Haupt. But where everything started. Prawn Cocktail serves beautiful fresh bread, but with MARGERINE not BUTTER. Very disappointing. Next was the carvery, I chose Beef, although I asked that it be carved from the other end as they were in the middle of the joint and it was very rare and also full of fat, in fact the person who carved the meeting was told by another server, just pull it. And that's what on my plate, my horroor, I asked to replace it because I can't eat much fat by digestive disorder that prevents me from eating excess fat. I actually asked about It was handed over to me that beef should be replaced and every time I asked, I was ignored after I said the apology, you can replace my b after every four other customers were served. It was replaced, but not with any complaints in fact the server was very illuminated. I felt like a fool. My dinner now wait stone cold after so long, then there was no Gravy and no Canberry, mint or horseradish sauce only scrap on the ground. On the tables there were no Christmas crackers, but our waitress managed to find us a few, and then it was time for mint cakes and coffee, only there were no mint cakes left. Even if we have our meal at 12.30 a.m., which was quite early a day we were asked if we would like to dispose of the desert menu that we don't want to order, we had a starter Main so that we could have mint cake for the desert. What a disaster. I suggest that the Toby Resturaunts should not be advertising special festive season menus if they cannot meet the requirement of the diner. I had a nice Christmas dinner last year on the ****, after these years it will definitely be the last time we visit the cocksuckers.
Very busy, but table on time and food was fresh. Staff v helpful and friendly atmosphere
The food is absolutely excellent. The meat is cooked 100% nicely. There's a gentleman there that I and my partner see every time we come and he's so polite, he doesn't get enough credit for what he does, he should go on, he always smiles 100% and always asks how we up and even offers to refute our drinks, even if it's all that you can drink with the refil glass and we could make it independent. But he's absolutely fantastic, I don't know his name, but he wears glasses and he has a beautiful smile. So polite and don't stop, we always give him a tip because how good he does. The food is beautiful and it is even good for vegiterans, because there are so many choices of veg etc! It is perfect for any kind of meal. There you can even have salad. It's just amazing.
You love or hate Carvery and we love her. As good as most carvery we had the usual veritable meat feast. Visit when you are in the frying season.
Food fine, disappointed to have booked through open table to turn up and they had no booking at restaurant for us. Had to wait which defeats the object really!
