This was a great place to stop for lunch whilst meandering from Mumbles to the Gower generously filled sandwiches, good pâté and a warm welcome from the lady of the house! View all feedback.
What Myttyli doesn't like about The Valey:
We stayed nearby for our holiday so we tried this pub one day for lunch. It was ok: not terrible but nothing mind-blowing either. If you're around and looking for a place to eat before or after a hike for example, it's worth a visit I guess. View all feedback.
I stopped by this restaurant for a quick, refreshing beer after a walk in The Gower. It may not be as welcoming or friendly as its neighbor, The Joiners, but it still offers a good pint at a decent price. The decor is nice as well, although the smoking area in the back is a bit rough.
We had a lovely Mother's Day dinner tonight. The food was delicious and tasted like homemade meals. The prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent.
The restaurant provided a good welcome and service. I had to leave my credit card at the bar, which I usually don't like to do, but I felt comfortable doing so as I was dealing directly with the owner, who seemed trustworthy. The menu was written on a blackboard and had a good selection of pub food at lower prices than a typical restaurant. The battered fillet of cod was interesting and you could choose between a large or small portion. Those of us who had walked 9 miles opted for the large portion and were surprised by the huge piece of cod. In hindsight, we should have ordered the small portion to save money and feel better after finishing the meal. However, all the dishes were of good quality and were enjoyed by everyone, even those who didn't order the cod. The beer selection was also good. Overall, a positive experience and I would visit this restaurant again.
A friendly and welcoming pub. A good menu particularly for fish we had fresh haddock cooked in butter and lemon really delicious. Service was very good and we shall visit this pub next time we are in the Gower.
Enjoyed a very nice evening meal here during our holiday at May half term. Needed to find a dog friendly place as was drizzly and a bit chilly to eat outside. This ticked the box the staff were happy to have dogs in the bar area and we enjoyed a good lamb dinner that evening very tasty. We found the locals were happy to chat to us as well which put us at our ease as it is not always comfortable on Holiday with dogs if not able to find somewhere to go, especially if weather not warm.
