I always enjoy a fantastic meal at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very relaxed during the day. The average price per person is £10-20. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5 out of 5. View all feedback.
What Alison Lynne Leggett doesn't like about The Brunswick Arms:
We called for lunch having enjoyed good home cooked food in the pub previously. Sadly the food was really disappointing, but no longer the home cooked ham oe chilli. We were served bog standard mass produced fare. What a shame! View all feedback.
Visited several years after I last came here. New decor, new owners. Good beer and nice atmosphere earlier in the evening. Did get a little nosey and some of the crowd a little boisterous later on, but with cheap beer and friendly owners it is a lovely place for a pint or two
Great selection of beers, including non alcoholic. Friendly atmosphere. Not tried food
Planned to go here for dinner as the food always was pretty good homemade pub food. Turned up at about 7.10pm on Thursday 22/8/24. Started to look at menu and was told by young barman kitchen is closed and last customer was served 5 minutes ago. Before leaving I double checked the written menu and it said dinner service ends at 7.30pm. I did highlight this to the barman who just said “oh sorry.” We did wonder how we’d get on as we’d been in there a few weeks earlier (the day was exceptionally quiet only about 3 of us in there. They closed the kitchen about an hour early that day. Some customers turned up about 15 minutes after they’d closed and they were turned away. Unlike last night on that occasion it was the landlord and landlady that closed the kitchen. Myself and my partner both have a background in hospitality (clue is in the word there “hospitality” we cannot believe a business would turn away trade during a cost of living crisis or at any time. It’s not a model way to operate a local business and I’m sure it’s a trade description issue advertising one thing and doing another!! Perhaps that is something worth looking into. Meanwhile a warning to future patrons this establishment is unreliable and customer care and service seems low on its list of priorities!
My favourite pub in Swansea. Always lovely, friendly staff, serving well looked after beers. I didn't eat there but the food always looks delicious. This is one of the last remaining proper pubs in town. Use it as much as you can so that it says with us for as long as possible...
Seems to have gone very expensive and appears the landlady has changed and not for the better. Staff don't seem to care anymore , shame really
