This is now called Luna Cafe. Offering English and amazing Turkush food. We came yesterday for the first . Ordered the Turkish breakfast for 2. A huge platter arrived. Jams, bread, eggs, meat which I didn't eat as I'm veggie) cucumber, tomatoes and olives. And plenty of unlimited Turkush tea. Highly recommended. £16 for 2 people . We will definitely return Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Heard mixed reports about this restaurant, but as a couple who enjoy eating out for no good reason, and seeking new culinary experiences from time to time, we decided to give Nic's a go, as it is local for us. First impressions are so often misguided, so the somewhat time warped decor was not going to turn us away as we were greeted in a friendly manner by Nicola, given the choice of where to sit, offered a drink before studying the menu, plus specials of the day. Our choices were prepared and presented with politeness and due attention to any extras we may wish to have, sauces, water jug, was the wine to our liking, all of which are points many other eating establishments either neglect to do, or are so invasive in their ott attention. The lamb served as my main course was absolutely delicious, my partner's steak rated well too, fresh vegetables served in side dishes and not cooked to death. Nic's home cooked chips scored high too. Yummy cheesecake dessert, cheese board and coffee completed our meal most satisfactorily with a bill which didn't make us gasp! If you want chic or a posey designer plated menu with fussy finesse, then not the place for you, but seeking a good value freshly and well cooked 3 course dinner plus a friendly welcome where it seemed that nothing was too much trouble, then give this a try, but soak up what the kitchen has to offer, rather than the surroundings. We shall return to Nic's Restaurant to sample some more at a later date.
If you want a relaxing evening out eating real food that isn't delivered frozen and then chucked into an oven then you could do a lot worse than to visit this little oasis situated in a terrace of shops and takeaways in Queenborough.Where else could a couple enjoy delicious home made soup, a duck dish, steak all with home prepared veg, and gorgeous home prepared desserts, and come away with a bill for a little over £50. Oh I forgot the beer, glass of wine and liquer coffee. The food here is prepared with care and I doubt you'll be better looked after anywhere. Yes service can be a little surreal at busy times, but these are genuine people who care about their customers and provide good food at fair prices.Pensioner's lunches are now available on some Fridays, and don't miss the lovely homemade preserves and chutneys ! Occasion cakes are also available, there's more to Nic's than meets the eye !
Nic 's is a very unassuming little place next to a small row of shops in queenborough and Im sure it is greatly under used. I had heard great things about this place and for years I had wanted to try it out. It is a very small family run place with around 20ish covers, it is like walking in to your aunties living room. I have now had the great pleasure of visiting this establishment twice, both time in large parties around Christmas time and all food had been pre-ordered. The food has always been above average, beautifully cooked with lovely fresh ingredients, bang on and rather unusual for poor old Sheppey which seems to have missed out on the British food revolution. I don 't want to say anything negative about this place as it has such great potential......... BUT the staff are an absolute comedy goldmine, imagine Faulty Towers meets steptoe, My friends and I still laugh to this day. I can 't recommend the Entertainment enough it is like stepping back in time. A brilliant night out!!
