Altstadt - Swakopmund

Amazing atmosphere. The food has blown us away! The potato fritter tastes exactly as the grandma does and the steak was OUT OF DIESER WORLD! I am a very picky steak eater, but this steak was cooked for perfection! No extra salt required. Stop it!

Great place with big portions of tasty food. Even though the place is quite big we got served very fast by a friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth their prices. Remember this is not a local food place but more on a German side so if this is what you are looking for I can highly recommend it.

The place is an amazing little patch of green amongst the old European town of Swakopmund. On an unassuming street, Alstadt stands out as an upscale restaurant. There's plenty of outdoor seating, a fire pit for groups, and plenty of space for kids to expend some energy. The food is top quality. Absolutely delicious. Try the Eisbein when you go. Appropriate for a date night, or a drinking session with mates, or a family outing, it's a great find for anyone lucky enough to attend.

Relaxing atmosphere. Good food. Good service. I can definitely recommend it if you want a drink or a meal.

We were recommended to come here for a good German meal by our B B host at “The Secret Garden”. Entering the premises revealed lovely ambiance and friendly greetings. My friend I were directed to a nice table and our server soon took our order for drinks then our meal a while later. And then he never checked on us for a very, very long time. Eventually he came by when we were done eating we asked for a take out box, which we waited very long for and then he seemed to forget about us again. Food was amazing. Service sucked!
