This was a great eatery we stumbled upon in Sutton after being disappointed that another local restaurant was closed for the season. We were visiting Montgomery, Vermont and decided to take the 20 minute ride to Canada for lunch, since the kitchen at the B B was closed. Right before we were about to leave and take our chances finding something locally in Montgomery, we tried this place. I'm beyond grateful we did. No... View all feedback.
What Cinta K doesn't like about Le Cafetier:
This place is suuuuuper basic. Definitely dont get food beyond a coffee. Got a sandwich which took an hour. It was tasteless and one slice of ham for $10. The soup was mushroom and didn't taste good. We paid and won't be back unless we have kids and want to sit for an afternoon eating tasteless food. View all feedback.

Right before we were about to leave and take our chances finding something locally in Montgomery, we tried this place. I'm beyond grateful we did. Not only was the food great but they spoke English as well. Lunch: Ham Swiss cheese panini on French bread Smoked Salmon w/cream cheese and capers on a bagel Both dishes were served with salad Snacks: Banana Bread Cafe Lattes Absolutely delicious!!!!!
We came into Sutton early to enjoy a nice breakfast and hot beverage before hitting the annual Christmas Market. The place was packed, but the server seated us immediately at one of the last two tops available. The menu changes daily, but for this visit, I ordered the bowl of real hot chocolate and an order of crepes with fresh fruit and maple syrup. The crepes were light and the fruit was an array of freshly sliced oranges, pineapple, and sliced grapefruit. My friend had a freshly baked large croissant. Portions in general were copious. I look forward to coming back here for a nice lunch in the future.
Great local cafe. Perfect for a wet rainy day. Extremely friendly staff! Highly recommended.
In the world of service professionals, there is service, Service and SERVICE. Le Cafetier and specifically its server, Eliane, (forgive me if I 've gotten it wrong; I 'm an Anglophone is clearly in the third category. My wife and I stopped off for lunch. The food was excellent as was the service. Eliane, our server, was efficient and professional as well as being quite attractive. However, when I returned to the car, I thought I might have left my glasses behind. (I am one of those cursed with almost good enough vision so this is a common occurrence. When I returned to the restaurant, the table had already been cleared and glasses were nowhere in evidence nor could the staff recall having seen them. I just assumed that I 'd put them somewhere in the car and planned to look later. We had been walking around the town for at least 15 minutes when Eliane appeared. The glasses had been on the restaurant floor, probably dropped from my shoulder bag. Now, this is SERVICE. Finally, a quick heads-up. Because people in Quebec are not as obsessed with calories as Yanks, Le Cafetier does not carry diet sodas.
