Pizzaexpress - Sutton Coldfield

Good Service shame about the food I came here for a meal with the family and the service was great, lovely waitress very helpful. Unfortunately, the food let the place down. The pasta dish must have been under the heat lamp for a while as the pasta was like rubber and parts of it was hard. They had run out of Tiramisu and Chocolate Fudge Cake !!!! I think this place is over priced for what you get and there are other places where the food is better.

My friends first choice for her birthday meal, she is a big pizza express fan. I was able to use my tastecard to get 2-4-1 for starters, mains and desserts. I started with Bruschetta Con Funghi which was amazing with the béchamel sauce, The portion was big but the bread was nice and light. I really liked the parsley and balsamic syrup. I tried the new dough ball with cheese and they were as lovely as other. Really hard to choose between the two as being my favourite starter. I tried the carbonara pizza which is new to the menu. It worked well but after having the large bruschetta with béchamel sauce it felt very rich.

Its been a pretty long week at work and I definately was not in the mood to cook. Thought I would give our local pub a break and ventured into Sutton Coldfield for a change. Based on Birmingham Rd Pizza Express can easily be missed due to its same frontage but once inside it opens up and is a busy place. I am trying to watch my waistline so opted for the 500 calorie menu and choise the Leggera Pollo ad Astra pizza. My son had the American and daughter had a Margherita. We shared a huge jug of water centre table which is normal practice for us at home. The staff were polite, welcoming and friendly. The toilets clean which is always a blessing and the price no different to any other Pizza Express which was fine by me. There was a childs party going on at the back but it did not interfere with our dining at all. We had a table by the window so we watched the world go by and we actually saw a few people we knew lol, even a priest was sat on a table behind us which created a bizarre conversation about religion at our table. So in essence £27.05 Warm friendly staff Kids had a ball The front is deceptive as its larger at the back Great food We will be back!

Love this pizza express. Feels like you're in Italy. Pizzas are absolutely amazing and genuinely authentic. Wine is beautiful. Love in the summer when you can sit outside and really feel that you're abroad. Lovely food.
