We tried this restaurant for the first time tonight, and we were all very impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. It was delivered quite quickly, which was a nice bonus. I can't say there was anything wrong; we will definitely order again! View all feedback.
What Andy Lane doesn't like about Maharajah:
We came back to the Maharaja after having suffered from sub standard food from other local curry take aways. The first curry we had a few weeks back was top notch but tonight's fare was really bad. The chicken tikka rogan josh wasn't tikka , the sauce tasted like tinned tomatoes, very bland. The chicken tikka balti was bereft of pieces of chicken and the sauce was thin and non descript. Probably my favorite place ever! I told the server, I like especially hot full taste curry’s and he recommended one that I come here every time I come here. (I will not mention which, as I know, he must close the kitchen to make it. very attentive staff and much better than some of the local competitors. I have to get away from here in a month of 15 minutes, but I'm still coming here.
Been going here for 30 years on and off..allways a great curry. Last Christmas day we had the set Xmas menu absolutely fab. No cooking for us any more on Xmas day.
Maharajah food is more delicious than any of (the numerous) Indian restaurants in Boldmere and the portions are on the very generous side of generous. The set meals in particular are amazing value. They are also fantastic for party catering we hold an annual party which we have them cater for and we get incredible comments from all our guests every year. Friendly staff, delicious food and amazing value what else could you want?

Curry was decent especially on the set menu between 5 of us. It was incredibly busy when we ordered but the time estimation given was spot on. This place is very popular with the locals and I fully recommend it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
