Sutton Staithe
Sutton Staithe
Description
Sutton Staithe Hotel offers a mixed dining experience for visitors enjoying the nearby Broads. While many guests praise the warm, friendly atmosphere and attentive staff, there are inconsistencies in the food quality. Compliments abound for their unique dishes, including exceptional buffalo chicken wings and accommodating chefs for special dietary needs. However, numerous patrons have reported long waits for meals and disappointing culinary executions, particularly during Sunday dinners. Despite these shortcomings, those willing to overlook occasional flaws may still find the vibrant ambiance and local charm worth experiencing, especially during peak times. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity.

We ate here during a boat holiday. we beat a coffee in the morning and booked a table for the evening, which was a good movement, as they were pretty busy. there is a good choice in the menu. We had chicken wings and...prawn bombs to begin with. then we had lamb and chicken cake that my man said was excellent. there is a beautiful atmosphere here and the staff is super friendly.
For lunch at 2 o'clock. super friendly young lady welcomed us. eat nice, very well presented. we will visit again.
The room was a bit tired, but the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, and there is a strict requirement to wear masks in the interior so that it felt very safe in this sense. it was very strange, however, that the breakfast arrangement, which is still operated as a buffet, with anyone who shares a toaster and broth coffee (we have skipped toast because it did not feel very safe).
Our experience at this restaurant was not as expected. The place was cold and run down, with no working heating and other issues in the room. Despite tasty breakfast, the overall condition of the hotel needs a major overhaul and thorough cleaning.
We stayed at this hotel and had Sunday dinner and breakfast. The room was fine, but the water temperature was too low and we had cold showers. We have been here before for Sunday dinner, but this time it was disappointing. The ingredients seemed high quality, but the cooking was not great. The meat was tough, the broccoli was undercooked, and the roasts were hard. The Yorkshire puddings were flat. The only decent items were the cauliflower cheese and peas. Other guests were also complaining about the food. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction, the staff did not apologize or offer any compensation. The Sunday dinner was not worth the price. The breakfast the next day was okay, but the sausage was not what we expected. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be returning. The hotel room was reasonably priced, but better quality food would make a big difference. We left as unsatisfied customers.
