Sign outside said Lunch Special but after the group entered the pub were informed that due to the football coverage no food would be served until the late afternoon. Why put the board up outside then? Two of our group stayed as we wanted tea and not to eat and so ordered tea. We arrived on a wet night to be out of the rain and get something to eat.We possibly pikked the wrong place. On entering the place we turned left, into the saloon bar. Perhaps we should have gone right, into the lounge. But who makes the diference, these days? Drinks were fine, food was mediocre, locals were terrible. Any publican should put these loadmouthing drunks outside, to cool down in the rain. But perhaps they are too important in ensuring the continuing existence of the pub.
The food at this restaurant was amazing, the service from the staff was friendly, welcoming, and kind, and the atmosphere was delightful. It was made even more special by the fact that the England national football team was playing in the World Championship. Overall, everything was outstanding.
The chicken noodle dish was delicious. It was a large portion, so I couldn't finish it all. My friends also loved their meals. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. I will definitely return.
I was having trouble parking as the car park was full. However, the Landlord and Landlady took the trouble of coming outside to advise where I could park which was really helpful. Old fashioned pub with a Public and Saloon bar which is nice. Darts going on one side of the pub and the quiz the other.
Really nice atmosphere. Loved the karaoke night with the girls.
