Safeway Liquor - Susanville

I think Safeway is great, no matter what someone says. You have a great sourdough bread and wear my favorite vegan cheese. You also often have Japanese eggplants I love. They carry OYSTER MUSHROO almost every time I'm gone!!!! This is my favorite veggie and usually found only in Asian supermarkets. They are also open until 2:00, which is convenient if I want a late evening snack.

Here is another bad experience I unfortunately had in Susanville, Ca. All I went in Safeway for two sandwiches and chicken pliers. I went to the counter and waited for someone to show up at Deli to help. A woman came, asked how I was, and I said thank you. I asked her how she was and she says, oh, just living the dream completely sarcastically. Then she took her sweet time to make a 12-inch sandwich that she kept several times in the middle of production. She had to run the length of the Delis to say hello to her friends and chat for a minute. She also complained that the bread delivery had not come and stopped looking for more after I told her I wanted French bread. She came back after a while and said I only have French bread - I told her that 's good l, it's what I had already asked. She continued this, took my sweet timing, while the line obviously builds as if none of us had things to do today. That went through two sandwiches.. No joke - I'm on the Deli counter for 15-20 minutes waiting for them to make the 2 sandwiches and grab 2 chicken teeth. That was 9:00 this morning. Btw. The guy who supervised the payout money went away as soon as I get there. My self-paying machine had a problem and I sat and waited for him to come back. I see he was in one of the cheques that chat with an employee, and he took his time to get help. What about the customer service?? I'm not going back to Safeway in Susanville or somewhere in Susanville for this matter. I'm going through Susanville to see family for 4 hours. I'll have lunch for me and my husband and my children on the way to Susanville. Two sandwiches and two chicken tits cost over $30! Unreal

Keep in date products instead of keeping expired on the shelves. This has often happened during the year.

Cashier Dora is rude. Worked food for many years, so I have a soft spot for customer service workers I will be respectful and polite to ALWAYS, but she tried to enlighten me in thinking that I was rude to her. I have heard there were several negative encounters with Dora and many different customers at different times. It's time for Safeway to let her go, she literally sends shops to the street because of her bad attitude.

This review is just for the deli. Yesterday I went shopping and decided I wanted chicken wings. The flavor selections were limited: Buffalo (I could be wrong) and fried. The fried looked tasty so I chose them, asking for a dozen. After I arrived home and put the groceries away I sat down to enjoy a few wings. The breading was sooo HARD I could barely bite it. I had to break it off to get to the meat. I shared the breaded skin with my dog and even she had trouble chomping it. It tasted good, however.
