I tried the blood orange sorbet and pink grapefruit sorbet, and they were amazing. We drove 30 minutes just to enjoy them. The service was friendly and excellent, but since the vegan flavor options are limited, you might be out of luck if they run out. I recommend calling ahead or arriving early! View all feedback.

Best ice cream shop! Impossibly good ice cream and gelato. The two young women on duty at the time we were there were doing a great job, often facing long lines of 10-20 people. They kept up a smooth, constant pace, serving everyone quickly withoutlosing any of the personal touch.
Maybe the best ice cream we've ever had. It was such a nice surprise to find this spot. We had Oak Bourbon (the best honestly), strawberry and cream, blackberry and raspberry, and cotton candy all the adults and kids in the house approved of itthoroughly!
I am a 100% professional ice cream critic and have to say.. This shop RE DEFINES quality ice cream. This ain?t no mid grade giffords peddling shop. Everything is made in house and INCREDIBLE tasting. Waffle cones were heavenly, ice cream was freakingdelicious, and the pug theme was amazing. All around a life changing experience that makes it hard to eat at any other ice creamshop. 10/10 would live here and eat ice cream for the rest of my life if I could.
Whoa, the other reviews aren?t lying. Some of the best ice cream I?ve had. Met a couple visiting Bar Harbor who said they read about this place and went and were not disappointed. Also my waiter at a local restaurant told me it?s his favorite spot in thearea. Decided to try it with the fam and wow. I went with the Rum Raisin and it was delicious. Probably not a wrong choice togo with. ????????

Pugnuts is a favorite among locals, and I finally decided to check it out in search of vegan options. I was pleasantly surprised to find a few choices available, and we ultimately selected the blood orange gelato sorbet and coconut ice cream. Both flavors were absolutely delicious. Although we didn't try the almond coconut vegan ice cream, it sounded enticing. The restaurant is conveniently located just a block away from a charming waterfront park, perfect for enjoying your ice cream outdoors. Just keep in mind that the vegan options may not be immediately apparent and may be stored in a cooler towards the back, so don't hesitate to inquire about them.

Perhaps the most gorgeous spot for ice cream in the world. Get an ice cream and then wander down to the town wharf. The pic is from winter, but summer is even lovelier.
Charming little shop hidden away from the usual crowded attractions. It's definitely worth a visit, especially as you head towards the beautiful sights off the beaten path, such as Nervous Nellie's Jams and Jellies, Deer Isle, Stonington, Castine, and beyond. Enjoy!
The server is friendly and best at what he do! That’s why we love coming back to their store. The ice cream is worth to try

We tried the sorbet and pink grapefruit sorbet at Pugnuts, and they were absolutely fantastic. We even drove 30 minutes just to enjoy this delicious treat. The service was friendly and excellent, though vegans may find the limited options disappointing. It's a good idea to call ahead or come early to secure your order.
I love Pugnuts and was excited to find out they have vegan choices. We sampled the blood orange gelato sorbet and the cocosis, and both were fantastic. While we didn’t taste the mandel kokos vegan ice cream, I’ve heard great things about it. Just a block downhill, there’s a lovely small water park where you can enjoy your ice cream outside. The vegan options might not be clearly visible, so don’t hesitate to ask for them.
