We tried the sorbet and pink grapefruit sorbet at this restaurant and they were amazing. We drove 30 minutes just for this delicious treat. The service was friendly and excellent, but those looking for vegan options from the limited selection may be out of luck. It's best to call ahead or arrive early to ensure availability. Charming little shop hidden away from the usual crowded attractions. It's definitely worth a visit, especially as you head towards the beautiful sights off the beaten path, such as Nervous Nellie's Jams and Jellies, Deer Isle, Stonington, Castine, and beyond. Enjoy!

We absolutely adore this place! The gelato is fantastic, and I really appreciate that they serve espresso. They also have extended hours and are open every day of the week. The service is consistently friendly as well.

It's definitely worth the drive to experience the intensely flavored gelato, particularly the amaretto Pug Passion.

I really enjoyed the ice cream at Pugnuts. The ice cream sandwich with the cherry in the middle is absolutely delicious!

Delicious, creamy ice cream and gelato, friendly staff, clean space. We made two stops during our trip from PA for the week. If we return to Maine, Pugnuts will definitely be on our itinerary!

Pugnuts has garnered a reputation among locals for its delectable frozen treats, particularly its blood orange and pink grapefruit sorbets, which are worth the 30-minute drive for many. The friendly service enhances the experience, though diners seeking vegan options should be aware that selections are limited. It's advisable to call ahead or visit early to secure desired flavors. Notably, the eatery is conveniently situated near a charming water park, providing a delightful outdoor setting for enjoying your ice cream. While vegan offerings may not be prominently displayed, a quick inquiry can lead to delightful discoveries.

What a delightful discovery! They had everything my kids desired, along with dairy-free options! The atmosphere was super friendly, clean, and welcoming. They even allowed my kids to sample some items. We can't wait to return!

This is the best gelato I've ever tasted! They also offer fantastic coffee, espresso drinks, and ice cream. The owner is really friendly and welcoming. To top it all off, they even have pre-made doggie dishes featuring peanut butter and bacon bits. I highly recommend this place!

This is such a charming little shop! The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff was remarkable—so friendly and efficient! And the ice cream? It was so delicious that I can't wait to go back and try another flavor! I highly recommend it!

Best ice cream shop! Impossibly good ice cream and gelato. The two young women on duty at the time we were there were doing a great job, often facing long lines of 10-20 people. They kept up a smooth, constant pace, serving everyone quickly withoutlosing any of the personal touch.

Maybe the best ice cream we've ever had. It was such a nice surprise to find this spot. We had Oak Bourbon (the best honestly), strawberry and cream, blackberry and raspberry, and cotton candy all the adults and kids in the house approved of itthoroughly!

Pugnuts is a favorite among locals, and I finally decided to check it out in search of vegan options. I was pleasantly surprised to find a few choices available, and we ultimately selected the blood orange gelato sorbet and coconut ice cream. Both flavors were absolutely delicious. Although we didn't try the almond coconut vegan ice cream, it sounded enticing. The restaurant is conveniently located just a block away from a charming waterfront park, perfect for enjoying your ice cream outdoors. Just keep in mind that the vegan options may not be immediately apparent and may be stored in a cooler towards the back, so don't hesitate to inquire about them.

We tried the blood orange sorbet and pink grapefruit sorbet and they were amazing! We drove 30 minutes just to have them. The service was friendly and excellent, but vegan options are limited so you may need to be lucky. We recommend calling ahead or arriving early to ensure you get your desired flavor.

I love Pugnuts and was excited to find out they have vegan choices. We sampled the blood orange gelato sorbet and the cocosis, and both were fantastic. While we didn’t taste the mandel kokos vegan ice cream, I’ve heard great things about it. Just a block downhill, there’s a lovely small water park where you can enjoy your ice cream outside. The vegan options might not be clearly visible, so don’t hesitate to ask for them.
