I can’t wait to dine here again! The service was friendly, and the daily happy hour is a fantastic deal. You can’t beat $2 for a satay stick that takes me back to Singapore. It was delicious, flame-grilled, and paired with a wonderfully crisp sauce. The owner stopped by to say hello and check on us, which was a nice touch. I’ll definitely be coming back! We visited as a group and had the chance to try a variety of dishes from the menu. As the restaurant's name suggests, their standout item is the Sate. We sampled all four varieties: chicken, pork, lamb, and vegetarian. Each one was delightful, with the pork delivering the spiciest kick. Personally, I found the lamb and chicken skewers to be the most enjoyable. The Fried Chicken was absolutely delectable, and I also loved the Fried Mushrooms, which were crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor inside. Their Haus Style Gado Gado offers a contemporary twist on a vegetarian Caesar salad, making it refreshingly tasty. The snack menu pairs perfectly with the selection of Asian beers available. To finish, we indulged in the Deep Fried Banana, bite-sized pieces that were sweet and served with a delightful pandan coconut sauce. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for either a quick snack or a full meal.
I had an amazing experience with some delicious, authentic satay! My favorite dish was the Chicken Satay, paired with coconut rice and Gado Gado salad. It truly felt like I was abroad! I can't wait to return!
The restaurant features a beautiful hand-painted mural that tells the story of their incredible journeys, adding an intriguing touch to the ambiance. Here’s what we got to try: - Chicken skewers - Beef skewers - Pork belly skewers - Vegetarian skewers - Turmeric rice - Coconut rice - Gado gado salad - French fries - A glass of rosé My favorites were the pork belly skewers drenched in their delicious homemade peanut sauce, paired with turmeric rice and gado gado salad. The pork belly skewers had a nice kick and were perfectly grilled, complementing the turmeric rice wonderfully. The gado gado salad was surprisingly flavorful, enhanced by Sate Haus’ special peanut sauce. Everything tasted fresh and was marinated in-house that day, all set in a casual and relaxed environment. You can grab a beer or a glass of rosé and soak up the good vibes. A big thank you to @fcba and @satehaus for the invitation!
I dined here on a Wednesday night as part of a foodie event (thanks to FCBA for organising). We were lucky enough to try a spread of most items on the menu including:<br/ <br/ chicken skewers with sate sauce<br/ spicy pork skewers<br/ gado gado salad<br/ turmeric rice<br/ coconut rice<br/ fries with spicy mayo<br/ <br/ Everything is made in house in their open kitchen. I thought the sate sauce was rich in flavour and worked well with all the dishes we were served. The pork skewers had a great amount of spice for my personal liking but there was extra chilli on the side for those who crave an extra spice hit. <br/ It was my first time trying a gado gado salad but i thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a good mixture of textures with the egg, green beans and thick sate sauce. <br/ <br/ Overall, I liked the selection of menu items on offer. It is a nice place for a cheap and cheerful meal before a night out on the town.
I love a grilled meat skewer and even better when the skewer can be smothered in a delicious peanut sate sauce. <br/ <br/ Sate Haus, the latest addition in Surry Hills, is dishing up Indonesian street food. Owner Dustin started Sate Haus with a vision to create a relaxed, chilled out venue with an Indonesian vibe where friends can casually hang out and enjoy some delicious skewers whilst washing it down with a beer or wine (I recommend the house rose) and you got yourself a sate party! <br/ <br/ Choose from chicken, pork or veggie skewers which are all cooked to order. The pork belly skewers are marinated in a spicy manadonese sauce which give them a fiery kick! The sate sauce is made fresh daily, you can really taste the peanuts and aromatic spices in the sauce. It’s hands down the best sate sauce I’ve had in Sydney! <br/ <br/ We also tried the gado gado salad (Indonesian speciality made with layered veggies, egg and sate sauce) and the sate haus fries served with sate or chilli mayo sauce. There is also a choice of turmeric or coconut rice to accompany your skewers. <br/ <br/ Don’t forget to check out the awesome graffiti wall inside and try and spot the names of the owner’s kids and other halves, fave sports heroes and movie stars plus some sate Haus inspirational ‘inspo’ quotes. Also, spot owner Dustin’s face on the graffiti wall and on the beer mugs! I love the personal touches at the Sate Haus. <br/ <br/ A big thanks Sate Haus for supplying this awesome feed. <br/ <br/ Note: I dined as a guest of the venue.
