Veneto's Cakes Pastries - Surrey

I got a custom cake made for my mom’s birthday, and my family has been getting cakes from Venetose for as long as I can remember, and they never disappoint! This time yet again the cake was amazing! So yummy! And the decorations were outstanding , better then I expected! Definitely recommend!

I ordered a cake for 40 ppl this past weekend, my order was a diplomat cake with the substitution of Chantilly cream and I repeated several times that I didn't want any Bavarian cream in the cake. They assured me it could be done, which I knew because we have ordered cakes before and when they get it correct it is amazing. When it came time to cut the cake I realized my order was done incorrectly. I called to let them know of their mistake and was met with a rude and argumentative manager. She argued with me that she personally made the cake and knows she made it correct. When I offered to take her the left over cake I had, so she can see it wasn't correct, she quickly said no and said she wasn't gonna go back and forth with me even though she knew she was right so she would just give me a 15% discount. I accepted as I too was frustrated since I cut the cake and was looking at it and it was not what I had ordered. But thinking back now a discount isn't enough because I know that no one in my family will be eating the cake since we don't like Bavarian cream. I realize that now I'm out $110 and left with a ton of cake that will most likely go into the garbage. The lack of responsibility for their error is disappointing.I attached a picture of the cake, that shows the cream in the middle which is pale yellow, which is odd because had it been chantilly cream it would have been white like whip cream.

I love the fact this is a family run business. I was in a major bind with a clients anniversary party and needed cake ASAP as the one I received from another bakery was sub-par. When I called in and told them of my situation they were more than willing to help and sympathetic of an independent business owner. Not only did they get me the most beautiful cake in such a quick time, it was delicious and a major hit at the party. I will recommend Venetos over and over again.I usually do not write reviews but the fact they went over and above for me warrants at the very least a 5 star review from me.
