Couples night out and pouring rain outside but cozy and warm inside. We had the Calamari and Souvlaki special (I had chicken and hubby had beef) and there was so much food, we did not leave hungry. It was relatively quiet (only 2 other tables) and service was a bit slow but we were not in a hurry so it was not an issue. View all feedback.
What Kristy Wintheiser doesn't like about Pelagos Greek Restaurant:
We did not eat in the restaurant which offered great views out over the beach. We were staying in a nearby Airbnb so ordered take out. The staff was amazingly helpful, even carried our many bags of food out to the car. But, the food was disappointing. The Greek salad, which you would think would be a signature offering was all cucumber and not enough of the good stuff...tomatoes, onions, olives, and feta. The appies... View all feedback.
Nothing shocking here. Typical Greek food. Mostly prepared ahead. A bit disappointed with some dips that had potato flake filler. We ate on the deck which was basic white plastic tables, chairs and umbrellas. Just fine. Menu was reasonably priced and portions huge. Lots of choice. Indoors had lovely window tables which would be nice to to try in the winter. Bathroom was lovely and clean. Only one waitstaff on shift but it was early in the day and the person mets all our needs very quickly. We will go back.
Took a couple friends for here for lunch on Friday. The view, weather and company was great. Our server seemed to be a bit over worked running up and down the stairs but she did an ok job bringing our drinks and food in a reasonable manner as well as always making sure our water glasses were filled on a hot day in the sunshine. I wish the kitchen gave the same attention to the food as our server gave to our water glasses because the food was not up to the comments in previous reviews. The kalamari was greasy, in a floury unseasoned batter that was a far cry from the crunchy and garlic seasoned squid I was hoping for. The souvlaki platters had a soggy potato with no hint of lemon and a mound of mushy peas. The chicken were tiny skewered nuggets that were dry and overdone as was the lamb, hugely disappointing. Though the location and service was good unfortunately the kitchen was not. Too many good places to go to, I will pass on this place and get great Greek food at NewYorkNewYork in the future.
We went with friends to this restaurant, located near the beach. Had the rack of lamb and it was very tasty. I would recommend.
We came here on a sleepy Saturday when it was sunny, then rained, then was intermittently sunny again, and we highly recommend the two tables with the picture window on your right as you come up the stairs, those are the places to be, excellent views west to Point Roberts. Having lived in Greece and Cyprus, I may be too demanding of local representatives of this cuisine, but I started out with a bean soup (ubitquitous in Greece and Turkey) that was fine. I went on to a lamb gyro that was adequate, with a Greek salad on the side. My partner was less easygoing, complaining about bland rice, tired peas and beef souvlaki that was "edible". I would still give the place another chance. Next time I'll try the lamb shoulder.
Had a delicious special last night of Chicken Souvilaki along with Calamari, delicious roasted potato, rice, perfect Satziki and a decent sized portion too.
