Wasn't Bad. I thought this place was pretty good.. The outside looks grungy but when you get inside it looked clean on a Friday afternoon. The food was deep fried greasy and sweet and salty. Isn't that what American style Chinese food is? I am from Calgary maybe BC people are used to a higher standard but it seemed about the same as what you would get in Calgary. The dim sum tasted good everything was pretty tasty ex... View all feedback.
What Gary K doesn't like about Oriental:
It use to be a Mexican Restaurant in the 70's called Chi Chi's and then it became Foody Goody until the quality ran down and then it became the Oriental but I suspect it was the same owners of the previous and I think they were Franchised. View all feedback.

This place deserved to be closed and it finally did. No other comments but it had a bad reputation of failing the dept of health inspections regularly. Now it is gone...
This restaurant was recommended to us by our daughter. We did pick up take out. The place smelled of seafood, which didnt encourage us to dine in. We werent overly impressed with the food. There was shrimp in our chicken chow mein ... good thing we arent allergic. Looks like we are still on the hunt for a decent chinese food place in Surrey, as we wont be back.
The variety of food at this restaurant was amazing. The food was fresh, hot and well done. I am a very picky eater and was worried about going somewhere new. I just moved to Surrey and am delighted to have found this place. There was absolutely nothing negative about this restaurant. We were relaxed and enjoyed our dinner very much. The mix of Canadian food and Chinese food was wonderful. I look forward to returning to this restaurant and will not hesitate to recommend it to others.
.. ok .. Asian Buffet... There is a good selection of items at the Oriental Buffet.. soups, sushi, fried chicken drumsticks, tater gems, fried potatoes, Chinese vegetables, Chinese Pork, Chicken, Beef dishes, steamed fish, fried fish, shanghai noodles, chow mein, fried rice, spring rolls, prawns. Also fresh fruit, cookies, jello, sliced fruit and Ice Cream for dessert. Beware ... around noon... A Chinese Tour Bus pulls up and the group 'destroys ' the Buffet! Lucky. I was finishing off and onto the desserts when they approached en masse to the Buffet! I visit every few months ... There are small groups , workers and individuals dining here. For a small price.. The Oriental Buffet offers a good selection of food... Not gourmet quality.. but it is a decent Buffet!
