It had 5 stars and all 7 revie... read more We were looking for dinner while traveling back to the States that wasn't a fast food chain and found this place on Trip Advisor. It had 5 stars and all 7 reviews raved about the food so we decided to give it a go. We were confused when we got there because the address matched but the place is called BBQ Nation not Barcelos. It had what seemed like the same kind of menu so we stayed. Once we looked at the menu, if we weren't so hungry and if there was something else close by we would have left. $8 for 2 chicken skewers, and another $5 if I wanted a side and drink! Or, you could get a quarter of a chicken for $7 and a side and drink for an additional $5. Trying to save some money, we ordered our main and 1 side and just had water. My daughter got the chicken breast which was probably the smallest chicken breast I've ever seen. My "nation rice" tasted like minute rice. Overall, not very good and WAY over priced!

I really enjoy the double legs (special for 2 on Tuesdays) and the coleslaw with kale and the green or Portuguese salad. Also have chicken sandwiches and kebabs. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Price is very reasonable.

Lots of different combinations to order but we went with the whole chicken, cut up of course, salad , fries and garlic bread. Lots to eat! The chicken was grilled very well, moist and tasty. The accompanying sauce was flavourful with just a hint of heat. Overall very good for a very good price.

The food was served promptly and the family packages of chicken, salad, rice, French fries, and bread were all delicious. The facilities were clean and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ordered the Jumbo p... read more We have visited Barcelos for the second time now, with our first experience being at the Langley location and both visits were enjoyable. We ordered the Jumbo pack which included rice and a burger with peri peri fries. Overall, everything was fresh and tasty. The fries could have used a bit more seasoning and the wings were slightly burnt, but they still had great flavor. The highlight of the burger was the soft bun. The portion sizes seemed smaller, leading us to believe they may use free range chicken. The rice was particularly delicious. Overall, our group enjoyed our lunch experience at Barcelos. We were so hungry that we devoured our meals before we even thought to take pictures!
