A group of 10 dined at this restaurant on Saturdat night. We were skeptical when there were only a couple of tables occupied. As it turned out we had no reason to be concerned. The food was authentic and excellent. The naan breads were delicious. We ordered 4 double dishes, 6 mixed naan bread and rice for 6 and some side dishes. The restaurant is a BYO. When our bill arrived at the end of the evening we thought there... View all feedback.

Food was what we expected . Cost was not ! The pricing seems set up to confuse with different prices listed on the board outside, on the menu and on their web site . Paid in cash and glimst receipt briefly before it being taken away and change returned ( without receipt ) . Checked prices later on their web page and could not get it to add up to the amount although still expensive ! Other reviews also complain about... View all feedback.

Other reviews also complain about this place over charging so think it might be more the norm than a mistake. Most expensive meal by far for our weeks holiday but far from the best . Some Japanese restaurants are much better .

When you order butter chicken and it arrives, your mouth is watering and you dig in.....only to have a piece of fish. EewThe rest of the meat, of which there was not much, was chicken but I ate it with apprehension. The naan bread was undercooked and doughy, and the chutney which we were charged for, never arrived. There were only 3 tables in the restaurant so I can't find any excuses for the mishaps. We won't be back.
We saw this place when we were eating next door at Alfresco. We asked our server how is the place next door and he said outstanding. And a lot of people over look it since it sits back off the main road a little bit and the large Italian place is on the corner. He said they have a friendship with them and had for years and if one of us wanted curry and one wanted pizza, they would order for me off their menu and bring it over. And that this place does the same with the Italian food. So we thought we would check it out. We were staying in Surfer's Paradise at the Hilton and quickly figured out the restaurants lining the beach front area/main drag - most were awful, some of the worst meals we have ever had abroad if ever and were over priced tourist traps. So that's when I found this place and the Alfresco next door on TripAdvisor and thought we should just walk the ten minutes to get a better meal. The weather was nice so why not. Boy was that the best idea ever. I love Indian and so does the hubs. But it seems like we only ever have it when we are outside the US. And since everyone knows that curry is the #1 dish in the U.K. - it's usually when we are in London. This place in our opinion was even better than what we have had in London- Definitely spicer which we really like. We ordered a lot- the lamb Kebab starter, garlic cheese Naan, yellow rice, Chana Masala and Prawn Vindaloo. The owner told us the Vindaloo was hot and way to hot for her. It was one of the best meals I have ever had!! Every single item was amazing- And spicy. The Masala I have had normally is no my spicy and more of a sweet taste. It all had a kick. But just the right amount of kick. The vindaloo was HOT! Right on the edge for me of being to hot. But the hubs loved it and honestly, it wasn't that hot that makes your face and mouth go numb. It burned fast and hard and then it was gone. The flavors were bright, distinct curry smells, but warming to your senses. That cheese naan- out of this world!! I wish I could order take away from here tonight for dinner. They have a covered patio so you get to have a great dinner on their patio. Portions were large. Great for sharing. I had only ever had Chana masala as a side or a starter portion. This was a main and it was a lot of food but the best Chana I have ever had. The rice - fluffy, beautiful saffron spread liberally throughout- perfect for all the delicious curry sauces. This was a great meal and we really loved this place. I hope more people will give them a try- they are really amazing and I feel like it's this little hidden gem. You really should try them out. And it's so nice they have a great friendship with the Italian place next door. That's a great idea incase your date can't decide between the two- you can have both. I wish we had this place down the street from us, we would be there regularly. Oh and they do Vegan, gluten free and Haal which I know is really important to a lot of people. Seems like they had lots of specials too for lunch and you can bring in your own wine. You will not be disappointed- it really is a great place!! Best curries ever!!
We ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka, naan bread and rice through menulog last night. It was the 1st time we ordered from them and I cant fault the food it was really good. The chicken tikka had the authentic tandoori seasoning which other indian restaurants seem to lack and the butter chicken was really flavorsome. We will definitely eat there again
