Macie Ethel's
Description
Nestled on the island, this restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences. While some guests praise the friendly, attentive staff—especially standout servers like Ms. Deb and MacKenzie—and highlight hearty, home-style dishes such as fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs with oysters, and generous burgers, others report slow service, order mix-ups, and inconsistent food quality. Prices tend to be on the higher side, with some diners feeling the meals don’t match the cost or expectations. Ideal for those seeking Southern comfort food and welcoming hospitality, but patience and tempered expectations are advised given the uneven execution.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Went here for brunch on a weekday. Nice size menu and daily specials. Great selection of wines too. Highly recommend.
If you’re looking for a restaurant with some Southern Staples look no further! Best fried pickles around and no one in this area can beat their fried green tomatoes! Staff is super friendly and the place is open and inviting. Their menu had so much more, but this is what we ordered today. Leaving as a satisfied customer!
Shrimp and grits are the best! Definitely recommended. Everything else was good. The price is a little much. Definitely a place to experience southern hospitality. The waitress was really sweet.
The M&E Burger was AWESOME! Portions were way more than enough. Online prices are NOT correct. I was expecting to pay $10 but ended up paying $14. But the burger was delicious. Service: Takeaway Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
