Durango's Gift - Superior
Durango's Gift
Description
Tucked away in a cozy corner, this restaurant presents a mix of culinary experiences that can be both delightful and frustrating. While many diners praise the high-quality food and friendly service, particularly highlighting their breakfast and pulled pork, others report significant delays and cool dishes. Concerns about gluten-free practices raised by some patrons underscore the importance of food handling, which could deter those with dietary restrictions. Yet, family meals provide good value, making it a local favorite. Overall, the eatery offers a homey atmosphere, appealing to both casual diners and those seeking hearty meals.

We've been patrons of this restaurant for many years and have always had a good experience—until recently. The last two visits have been disappointing regarding both service and food quality. On this occasion, we ordered the Rustler's Dip along with fries, but our server informed us that they had forgotten to order fries, which wasn't her fault. She offered us other options, and we decided on onion rings instead. However, when we received our bill, we noticed an extra $4 charge for the onion rings. This fee was not mentioned when we placed our order, and we assumed the rings were a substitute for the unavailable fries. When I brought this up at checkout, the server simply looked at me without any response. As a result, we paid our bill, and for the first time ever, we decided not to leave a tip. This is particularly disappointing considering our long history with this establishment. We usually camp and pass through Superior from June to October, about four times a month, but I think we'll be looking for other dining options next June. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

We stopped in for lunch today and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. After placing our order, it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive, despite the fact that there were only six other tables occupied in the restaurant. When our meals finally came, they were cold, and the shredded cheese on top of melted cheese likely indicated that they had been sitting out for too long. The fries were crunchy, which didn’t add to the enjoyment. We brought our concerns to our server, who offered a discount, but after already waiting so long for our food, we weren’t willing to wait any longer for a solution.
