I have been going to Kabul Afghan Restaurant since its opening over 30 years ago. It has always been fantastic, consistent, and the food is always fresh and delicious. The owner Mr. Najib, and his son Edris are very friendly and they oversee theoperation. The staff are very friendly, and the service is great. These are few pictures of our orders. The eggplantappetizer melts in your mouth. The pumpkins appetizer is mouthwatering the picture doesn?t do it justice since we ordered thetoppings yogurt sauce and tomato meat sauce) on the side). The meat and chicken are very juicy and cooked to perfection. Theambiance is elegant and the decor is tasteful. We frequent this restaurant very often. I highly recommend it.
Honestly the food is not worth the money. Fremont Afghan Kabobs in Santa Clara is still my favorite. I've tried many Afghani places and this one was the worst. The chicken I had tasted chewy like it was old or sitting too long before cooking. The ricewas really dry and found a long black hair in it. When I told the people about the hair they accused me of putting it there. I'mblonde. Will not return to this place and really hope they improve their sanitation and customer service. Also they claim to beHALAL, they are not. You see in the kitchen the chicken is from foster farms, they don't do halal meats.
Incredible! Ordered the mantu dumplings and the kafta kebob, was really surprised with it overall. Most places will give you a small kebob, or 2 very small ones, whereas the picture he truly captures the portion size they serve. More importantly though,it tasted great! Staff serving me were super friendly as well and very attentive!
I tried the giant shrimp kabab and some appetizers at this restaurant. The shrimp was delicious, as expected with good quality seafood. However, the rice and bread were quite plain. The prices are on the higher side, but the portions are large. Unfortunately, all the appetizers were fried. Overall, it's a good spot if you're craving a lot of meat and carbs and you're hungry.
