Wow... I mean fuken wow. We are from Los Angeles Ca... and wow! Chavez Supermarket really impressed us. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. I did not take pictures inside. But everything we cooked was bought here on our 1 week Airbnb stay walking distance. Enjoy! View all feedback.
What Elissa Legros doesn't like about Chavez Supermarket:
I came in to get some tacos and was completely ignored for 10 minutes. No one was in line, the employee went back and forth, even with a manager without as much as I'll be with you in a minute I think I didn't have the right skin tone. A few weeks later I asked about a pound of carnitas and when I go to pay it 's about a pound and a half, seemingly math is not a strong topic for these people. Will never walk in this... Ridiculously expensive is what they only charge me for a small iceberg salad. Will never buy from here again. Check the prices before you surprise something on your car or May when you come home.

I like hunting market good quality ingredients delicious hot food I was just in Redwood City never at the one in Sunnyvale, but quite the same was extremely small parking supermarket full of good stuff they were six cash lines and only one was open 2:30 in the afternoon on a very busy street I got a burrito in the back and I wanted to buy my drink there too, but I was not allowed to do that, no sense
I love the products in Chavez. If you don't find a mature avocado anywhere else, you'll find one. BURRITO BAR IN TOWN. Different things as you would find in Safeway, but that's why you're going there. It's like in a grocery store in Mexico. All employees are bilingual. Chavez is fun.
Always packed inside esp on weekends. They have a kitchen in the back for take out, smells great all the time. So far have only ordered the menudo (only available on weekends).....Definitely worth it and don't get there after 12p for it b'cuz there won't be any left. They sell out so fast or they dont make enuf, not sure which. They have a good selection of meat chicken and some fish, but we don't buy our seafood there. They also have some cold cuts and we get headcheese there every year, so few places sell it anymore. Nice neighborhood grocery store friendly staff, tight parking, great little takeout kitchen; keep it going!
