Was Barry D at Michael's on Main a mag?
Had lunch here. Lunch menu is $14.99 that comes with about 12 different choices. The ones my party had were all unbelievably large. Very tasty food. PLUS included is salad bar AND...nor OR, but AND choice of two soups...mine was excellent...PLUS, fresh bread. And to top it off, price includes pop, tea or coffee but my party was never asked if we wanted a drink other than the water that comes in nice bottles on the ta... View all feedback.
What Deven Schmitt dislikes about Michael's on Main:
The food was excellent, in particular the chicken parm and the ribs. The new venue is nice with plenty of windows. The chief complaint was the service. Another table seated after us had their meal order taken even before we were offered drinks. Once the order was taken the meal came in a timely manmer. We had to flag someone down when we needed drink refills, and the coffee took forever. View all feedback.

Since a few months this restaurant moved to the golf course in Sundridge. The restaurant and the location is much better. The food is still great, but the staff can be better. We had to wait for a very long time before we got our food and the waitress was a kind of funny but not very elegant. This is one of things that have to change to keep up to have regular guests.

On June 21, 2017 I celebrated my 60th birthday, at Michael's for dinner with my husband. I am disappointed on many levels. Fist I will say that we have dined at Michael's at least 3 times a year over the last 5 years. This is my first review. This was our first experience at his new location at the golf club. It is a lovely venue, an improvement from his Main street location. Michael's food is absolutely amazing. My steak and fries were equivalent to those I ate in Paris, France. Exquisite. His menu has not changed in the 5 years I have been eating at his venue, but not a problem as it is over the top great cuisine. I have never had a complaint about the food he serves. My disappointment lies in his service. He has never had very good service in my humble opinion. I have overlooked this in the past but this time I really did expect more. His new location makes me think he wants to move to a new level. His prices are high and therefore I expect service that is worthy of those prices. It is not just about the food. My husband personally visited a week earlier to choose a table and made a reservation. The day of our reservation, he went in a few hours earlier and delivered personally into the hands of Michael himself, 12 white roses along with a vase so they could be placed on our table for when we arrived. When we arrived, we were told there were people at our reserved table, but they had been told the table had been reserved and they would have to leave. Why don't we sit in the waiting area, which is lovely, for the record and have a drink. This was at our own expense, while they prepared our table. 20 minutes after our reservation time, we were seated at our table. There were no roses on the table. My husband left the table twice to inquire where they were. They were finally presented to me. The roses were wilted and very sad looking. My guess is that they were just thrown on a counter and forgotten the moment after Michael took them from him. The service was incredibly slow, I am guessing, due to the lack of staff. I believe there were only 2 servers that evening. The woman serving us was very friendly and had the restaurant been properly staffed, would have been able to provide excellent service. The salad bar, a nice addition, was empty. My husband had the soup and again it was incredible. My 3 star rating is generous. This rating is for the food and for your excellent staff. Maybe you will survive because there are so few good places to eat in this area but I am not so sure I will be visiting your venue again. Your restaurant is by far one of the better places in the near north. Can you imagine how great you would be if you actually provided the service of a high end restaurant you claim to be to match the level of the food you serve?
We have enjoyed this restaurant for years. Enjoyed lunch today at their new location at the golf course. Great service and yummy food. Portion sizes are generous. We will definitely be going back.

We really enjoyed our night out to Michael’s! The portions were crazy big and we loved the warm family atmosphere.
Had a fantastic Fish Chip supper that never disappoints, Michael puts his heart into every meal that delivers every time. The portions are huge can feed more than one at a super saving price. Best food in Muskoka and so worth the stop! Gotta have the Sticky Toffee Pudding for sure.
Dropped by for lunch before going home after a fun mini vacation on Lake Bernard. Great patio, lovely wait staff and scumptious food! And plenty of it. We were both just so happy with our experience !
We were delighted to find this family owned and run restaurant in downtown Sundridge, while staying at a local resort for 5 days. The portions were large, service fast and friendly on the patio and the prices spot on. The menu was extremely varied and appeared to cater to most people's tastes. Coping with the pandemic very well! All told, a very worthwhile restaurant to frequent, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
Nice staff and atmosphere we had the rib wing special which was very good and lots to eat, also one Indian curry as well which again didn’t disappoint . The price was good, definitely one of the better restaurants in the area

This restaurant is a great place to eat, although a bit on the pricey side. The portion sizes are generous and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the Salmon dish, which has a nice smoky flavor and is served with an amazing maple butter sauce. The kids ribs were also a hit with my little one. The shawarma chicken platter was fantastic as well. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about the food or service. The staff provided great service despite the pandemic, with outdoor seating and strict adherence to social distancing guidelines.
Portions size is fabulous, staff are extremely friendly. Our family try to go atleast once a month. Great spot to get fine dining meals in small cottage country.
Michaels on Main catered our September wedding and our guests are still raving around the food. The portions were extremely generous and the food tasted amazing. With having a wedding impacted by Covid I was nervous about how we would safety feed our guests. I should have never worried because working with Michael was a breeze. He worked with us to put in place a plan and protocols to keep our family safe while still providing superior service. And doing it all with a (masked) smile. We are looking forward to take out from the restaurant this fall/winter and to returning to dining at the restaurant in the future. I highly recommend saving room for the sticky toffee!
This restaurant has excellent food. We had take out dinner New year's Eve and it was excellent. There were lots of fresh vegetables and the steak was very good.
The eggs Benedict had a custom delicious sauce with spinach! The fish had the lightest crunchiest batter, with fresh fruit option, instead of fries. Mmmmm good. A delightful restaurant located on main street, in sunny Sundridge.
